We have it for a few years now and it's working well. We will never buy the cheap camping crap again.

My wife asked me to find another solution to placing 5 gallon bottles up on top of the water dispenser we purchased from Arrowhead. I went online and searched "bottled water dispensers" both on Google and Amazon and studies the offerings, then I read the reviews; Not too encouraging! Being a dentist who has maintained his office facility for forty years, I know something about water pumps. I was not impressed with the designs and complexity of some of these systems; plumbing, electrical and space requirements. I wanted something simple and reliable.When I spotted the TeraPump I knew this was what I was looking for; simple design (KISS), no batteries, no electrical hookup, inexpensive, reliable if well made.It arrived a half hour ago and it works PERFECTFULLY, here's why. The very large pump body moves 4 oz per stroke and the large return spring cycles rapidly so you can pump continuously and fill a quart container in less than 8 seconds, ( One tenth the time it takes our gravity drained dispenser) due to the very low resistance in the smooth bore 1/2" tubes. This is due to the design which uses the water bottle as a pressure chamber and the pump just pumps air into the bottle displacing the water up through the delivery tube, and once pressure is accumulated the water just flows. It's easy to overflow a container if you pump too long as there is no shut off.It took only minutes to assemble, just select the correct tubing lengths for the size of the bottle. It will reach all the way to the bottom of the bottle so it leaves only a few ounces in an otherwise empty container.It took me a few minutes to figure out how to attach the pump assembly correctly to the bottle. The directions are accurate, but not apparent to someone who has never done it. Place the pump assembly into the top of the bottle, depress the pump and hold assemble down on the bottle with one hand, then rotate the cap counter-clockwise until it is raised up to the bottom of the pump body, then while holding downward seating force, turn the collar clock-wise and downward until the stop ring is visible on the inside tube. That's itI can't comment on its durability, but build quality is excellent! I expect it to work for years and at this price who cares if it doesn't.I just ordered another one for our earthquake kit. I can think of many other practical uses for this product

I bought this about 10 days ago and got it only 4 days later! 5 to 6 days earlier than estimated arrival time. I wanted to use it for our Memorial Day camping weekend but wasn't sure if it would show up in time. I set it up on Saturday, May 23, 2015 as a water dispenser for hand washing and cooking water. It worked great! Pumps enough water for filling pots for cooking and enough to really rinse your hands well enough. Camping is about getting dirty but at least I can wash up before preparing a meal over the campfire. I liked the fact that I could take it off an empty 3 gal. bottle we were using to put it on the next bottle real easy. I plan on buying another one so I can have two separate wash stations. One near the cooking area and one by the toileting area. Works on different sized bottles, but I prefer the smaller, 3 gallon size. The big pump button on top makes it easy to push with your hands or forearms. Kids can handle this too when you lower the adjustable table I used with this pump. This can be used at other functions where there is no water for anything, cooking or cleaning. I can leave a 3 gallon bottle in my car and the pump packed away under the seat for an easier way to pack up and head for the mountains. If you have a cabin that has pipes that freeze over and stops the water supply, you can use the TeraPump to give you water to wash up and cook with. Really handy item to have.

We have started sourcing our drinking water from a local covered spring, decanting into 5 gallon plastic carboys. This pump makes it easy to pump the water out of the 5 gallon containers into 1 gallon bottles that we can keep on our kitchen counter. The flow is so high that filling a gallon takes maybe 20 seconds. We have to be a little careful to stop pumping when the gallon is 2/3 full because the water keeps coming out for a few seconds after the pump action stops. Our bottles have threaded tops, and it took a few tries to figure out the most efficient way to secure the pump onto the carboys. I hold the top of the pump with my left hand, while twisting the pump base with my right to screw it onto the threads, the pump is seated and sealed in about 5 seconds. It's a very simple operation. This is a very inexpensive and effective solution for our water management needs. I have no complaints (okay...maybe one -- purple? Really? You had to make it purple?) and I recommend this product it if you are looking for a pump for your water bottles.
