You can't put a unicorn back in the box!
Settle in for a moment as I explain why you can't put this unicorn back in the box. It is a tail of Mommy torture that perhaps you might not have to experience yourself if you get lucky, or head my warning and are smarter than I was. You see as the seasoned mother of 7 I ordered this very pony very carefully. The smallest minion is horse crazy as were most of her older siblings before her. Getting a real pony is not in her cards but this one, this $250 beast, was possible. As she was turning 4 and an average size I thought getting her this pony listed for aged 4-9 would be great. The box came, in all it's pony glory showing the neighbors just what was inside. A nice brown pony. This could have given the surprise away if our youngest Overlord has seen it, however we got lucky and were able to spirit it away to be hidden for 2 days before the special day when it would begin it's indentured life as the beloved pet of the cutest princess. So the day came and my little daughter opened her gifts, many of a brown horse from the show "Spirit Riding Free" and oh how she loves brown horses. I was excited this pony looks a bit like Spirit. I was specially thankful for it's color. Why? Because brown hides stains and dirt well. Given this is an outside toy, that matters. Given all the kids, and kids are messy, that matters. This horse was going to be perfect I thought to myself, worth every penny. Right? Right? So out comes the box and she was delighted, opening the box there are two pieces.... two. white. pieces. Yup, they sent us a white unicorn, not a brown horse. You see the birthday theme was unicorns, of course our daughter loves unicorns. Everyone thought this was on purpose. Our daughter instandly fell in love. I stood there, in shock, my mouth just hanging open. Husband looked back at me, his military years hiding his own shock... why would his wife do such a foolish thing he had to have been thinking. He went right to work putting the unicorns head on to the body. This is a simple thing. Then suddenly she was atop the bright white steed and she was glorious! Only her feet don't really reach, and it isn't adjustable... so she can't make it go the way it is intended. She is newly 4, and too small. This though did not bother her in the least you should know. We guess she needs another few inches to make this medium unicorn work as intended. However... because the wheels do not go backwards, she moves her body forward and back, so it inches forward just a bit, and in this way, she gets across the house. This delights her beyond reason. So you would think this would get more than 3 stars then right as I have a happy child who will one would assume grow into this toy in a year or more likely 2. Only we all know, any parent with any sense will tell you, that this white unicorn will never last that long. My anxiety was at peak during the birthday party as my sweet happy girl went running at her beloved unicorn, with chocolate cake covered hands. I fell out of my chair trying to get to those hands before it got to the white monster that now torments me in my home. I didn't order this white unicorn. I have no idea what mother would... maybe a photographer, or someone who can replace it ever few weeks when it gets dirty. You can't take off the fur and wash it, and spot washing we all know isn't going to work for long. I didn't order this white anxiety monster. But you see.... from the moment it came out of the box, that unicorn could not be put back in the box. My daughter fell in love with it. She instantly named it Sandly. She brushes it's mane. (and yes, the fuss covers the brushes meaning it isn't going to look great for long, but perhaps your child will not do this) she feeds it fake food, she takes it for rides to make it happy.... You should know, our Unicorn Sandy has resting angry unicorn eyes.... it is hard to make this pony happy! I have no idea how long this unicorn will live, I will say it is not long for this world. I will update the review with photos when the ending to this traumatic mom story plays out. My advice, if you are ordering for your child, have this delivered to a family members house and please oh please for your sanity, open the box right away incase you get the monster white unicorn of anxiety too when you meant to order the nice brown pony. Also, if your child is 4, maybe get the size small or wait a year and get the medium when they are 5 years old. Good Luck! May the odds be ever in your favor, they weren't in mine! (P.S. Send coffee.... this look this thing gives me is causing me to lose sleep!)

Very well made quality toy
This pony is not cheap, but then again it doesn't feel cheap either. It is very well made, kind of heavy, super sturdy and has held up for the last couple of years. It feels like a retro toy due to the high quality.

Make sure you have space
This thing is very cool for a little girl who loves horses and unicorns. My complaint is that it doesn't maneuver very well in our 1909 house... We don't have the big open spaces of modern homes so I wish I hadn't purchased this. I just thought it would turn better than it does. So now I have a giant unicorn in my house that can't really be ridden and it's white so taking it outside seems risky. Just be sure you have a lot of open space before you purchase as it doesn't turn well around a dining table. It gets stuck constantly so "MOM I'M STUCK" is what I hear when she tries to ride it.

My niece is in love
I was so afraid this would be junky… it is solid and stole my niece’s heart immediately. The brakes needed some adjusting on arrival but quality is great… I recommend getting the bigger size if you are torn between two

Horse fans will love this
This item is less bulky than it looks -- there is a metal frame, but the body is filled in via styrofoam -- kids can pick the horse up and carry it when it gets stuck somewhere. The horse indeed has no brakes, aside from the ones that keeps the wheels from rolling backwards. It does roll like a normal toddler scooter -- that is, it goes forward, but slowly rolls to a stop. Max speed is around 2-3 mph.It rolls across carpet and wooden transitions without problems, but if you're outside, any sidewalk tiles that is higher than a quarter inch will probably make the horse pitch forward.Any kid that like horses will love this toy, though. The little one talks to the horse and brushes the mane and tail, then rides around the house .The horse head bobs up and down while the legs move, so it feels very much like you're riding on an animal, rather than a scooter.
