These are excellent. The thin walls is exactly what makes them excellent. These are easy to split for cocoon cleaning in the fall. Our bees prefer natural material to cardboard, but bamboo is difficult to split for cleaning. These are the perfect balance and we have been replacing all of our tubes with these. So thankful this option is available.

Bought this to add more spots for my Mason and leafcutter bees in my AirBeeNBee and they took to them immediately after I set them in (they went in a bee house that was regularly used for the past 4 years)

I like that they came in a box (other reviewers said they came in a bag and some got broken). And these seem to be nice reeds (note, you WANT them to split in 2 easily when you choose to do that - as this is how you harvest bee cocoons and keep them safe from predators and disease until it's their time to come out). That said, some have reeds with one end closed (I assume b/c it's the bottom of the reed). It would be nice to have that as an option, even if it cost a little more - apparently that closed end keeps predators from getting at the larvae from the back.

The tubes are a great for replacement of original bee house. On the warmer days the bees are very active with the new tubes.Have fun!

Shorter than typical mason bee nesting tubes. Both ends are open too. The walls are super thin, many were split in places- don’t know if this was done during production and packaging or if they got damaged in shipping.

I removed the original tubes as the Mason bees filled them up and replaced them with these. Worked great and now I have double the bee tubes for this spring. I am building a half dozen bee houses and will split the filled tubes up with more empties so I can place them in various areas around our property.

Replaced our original tubes and these work perfect!!

Natural reed the correct size although some of them were a little small. Varied size may appeal to native bees of various species.

Thin, and open on both sides. Very disappointing considering how much I spent. I got crown bees brand last year, which are excellent. These are sun standard. Get the crown bees brand if you want superior quality.
