Very moisturizing + works well w/other serums in this line to target various problem areas...
I have been using the multi-peptide and vitamin C serums from this brand and find them very effective in helping me deal with my very dry and dehydrated skin. I like to layer serums so I can customize skin care to what works best for me, so I appreciate that the different serums from Boost Labs are shown with a summary of the purported benefits, making it easier for me to choose the right products. I try many different serums, but one that contains hyaluronic acid is a constant in my skin care rotation as there is no question that it works well with my skin. So I was happy to find this Hydro Boost serum with hyaluronic acid, especially at such a reasonable price. I use it, along with the other two serums, at night and it really does help with keeping my face look and feel well hydrated and lessens the rather drying effect the vitamin C serum has on my skin. Along with the peptide serum, this hyaluronic acid serum also contributes to a protective barrier on my skin. I can feel it after applying, although I don't notice it any more after layering a moisturizing cream on top. The serum is packaged in a heavy grey glass bottle with a dropper style delivery system so none is wasted. It arrived boxed and sealed, which is something I definitely look for in skin care products. The current price of $24.95 for one ounce seems reasonable, especially as I don't need to use very much per application.

Contains a lot of beneficial ingredients for skin, which I will explain.
Skincare products are a bit of a leap of faith because unlike medicines, cosmetics are very loosely regulated and often the 'scientific studies' done to prove benefits are done using very unscientific controls. Simply put, statements like 'makes you look younger', 'reduces wrinkles', etc. can be used sort of haphazardly. If 51% of a small study of paid participants say that the product cured their wrinkles, that is kosher to advertise. Nutritional supplements and cosmetics are very unregulated ... as long as they don't do harm, they are pretty much left alone.Having said that, there are certain ingredients which are designed to improve fine lines by plumping or hydrating skin. It is doubtful anyone will, or has, discovered a miracle anti-aging cream. It is likely the benefits you see from using this will be minimal at best and don't expect to look 5-10 years younger simply by applying this. It may firm skin a bit but it will not make wrinkles dissapear. The benefit to facial creams and facial serums are the longterm effect. Using a good skincare routine won't turn back the hands of time but it will slow them. Hydrating and using ingredients which do good things for skin and renew collagen may help you age slower. But they won't do what Botox and other such medical treatments will do.As it is important you not only pick the correct ingredients for effectiveness but also for safety, I will break down some of the active ingredients for you as someone who has done lots of research on cosmetics and supplements:- Lactic Acid ... Helps reduce fine lines and unclogs pores. Brightens skin. It does this by stimulating the renew of collagen production.- Glycerin ... While this sounds not so good, it is often used in skincare products because it refines pores and helps skin retain moisture.- Propylene Glycol ... Another scary sounding but harmless ingredient which smooths and hydrates skin.- PEG 40 Castor Oil ... A vegetable oil, this acts as a moisturizer and also helps bind the oil and water together as ingredients and keep them from separating.- Arginine ... Perhaps one of the most effective ingredients, it plumps and firms skin, which can slightly reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.- Phenoexyethanol and Ethylhexlglycerine ... Tough to spell but both act as a preservative which inhibits the growth of mold and yeast. The last ingredient also adds moisture. You could do worse for the price. This comes in a small apocothary-type bottle with a medicine dropper glass insert. A few drops around eyes and on the forehead are what I use it for. I don't notice much of a difference in fine lines but my face feels soft and I am sure it adds a little 'brightness' to the skin. I will likely keep this in my skincare regimen. As a serum, it will likely help slow down the aging process, although not in any miraculous way. Temper your expectations and understand the benefits you can expect to avoid dissapointment. I have not heard of Boost Cosmetics and their social media is devoid of any interaction (likes, comments, etc.) but the ingredients work for me.

Thick serum
I'm using Boost Labs Vitamin C, Hyrdo Boost (this product), Night renewal, and Resurfacing serums right now. They are all much thicker than any other serum I have used so far. This one is clear and more the consistency of thin oil than other hyaluronic serums I've ever used, and smells pleasant. I already normally use hyaluronic serums so I haven't noticed any effects pro or con with this one so far, but the thing I don't like is that all these Boost Labs serums make my face look greasy after applying. After they dry it looks fine, but since I layer on a couple of them, it feels like there's a film on my face and in fact if I wipe my brow with my fingers for example, I can feel the film coming off on my fingers. It doesn't really get absorbed into my face like other serums. It feels like adding moisturizer on top of these serums is worthless and just adds to the layer sitting on top of my skin. So while these may work well enough on what they are supposed to do, I won't re-order due to not liking film they leave on my face.

This stuff really works
Boost Lab 2D-Hyaluronic Hydro Boost Serum provided long lasting hydration with deep moisturization and plumps the skin. It’s pure, potent, paraben free, sulphate free and fragrance free. Used in combination with all your existing favorite moisturizers and cleansers, BOOST LAB serums give your skin the boost it needs, when it needs it most. How does it do that? It has a natural bio-complex that forms a beautiful silky breathable layer over the skin while drawing moisture into the skin to quicky hydrate and keep it moisturized. Hydrolized Hyaluronic Acid deeply penetrates all layers of skin while remaining light weight and deeply nourishing. Finally, it strengthens the skin's moisture barrier by attracting water into the skin. Most effective for those with sensitive skin as it's calming and can visibly reduce the redness in the skin. This is what I know… I have very sensitive skin and most products make my skin rash but this one did not. I’ve been using it for about a week now and I was also very surprised to see that my fine lines are also looking smoother, and my skin is brighter if that make sense. I also have their C and Retinol boost formulars and use all three and would recommend any of them to a friend. I believe that the neck is what gives away someone’s age. People always take care of the face and neglect their neck. The best part of this formula is that I saw a big difference in the way my neck looks more elastic than it used to and its’ smoother so in turn younger!
