Fate's Ransom Book 4 - A fitting conclusion
This is a wonderful series. I have always been a fan of stories like these. King Arthur and related legends will always remind me of honor, duty, and sacrifice. I admire those same traits in those who serve in military service. A favorite album of mine is Rick Wakeman's 'Myths and Legends of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table'. It was the first musical interpretation of these types of adventures I had ever heard. I think that was 1975. I do remember the very famous stage performance, Camelot with Richard Burton and Julie Andrews from 1960. I blame my older brother for having the album. Yes, I would sing along with it in the privacy of my home. There are, of course, volumes of writings about similar adventures, but Wakeman (of YES fame) captured the emotions of each tale as only music can. Having said that, I add this caveat. This First Argentines series by author Jeff Wheeler definitely captured my imagination and emotions. In Book 4, much is happening. Plots within plots and treachery everywhere. As Rick Wakeman is to music, Kate Rudd is to the written words. She is an amazing talent that I recommend having along with the excellent writings of Jeff Wheeler. I have very much enjoyed this series and look forward to reading Legends of Muirwood.

I'm in tears
Following Ransom and Claire's story for 4 books now but I still thought they would be bring him back to her. Still like the ending but hate the ending of a good series. Great series!! All of them are!!

Wonderful end to a great story
Jeff Wheeler has an incredible ability to blend real-life history with fantasy so seamlessly that you can't tell where the borders are any more. Like all of the other stories across multiple series set in this world, this is a powerful tale of family and loyalty and the small and large sacrifices that societies have always been built on.

Enthralling
It's been a very long time since I've read a book I couldn't put down. This series is one. It evokes every emotion as you are drawn into it. The characters are so reall and I definitely advise having a box of tissues handy. Excellent.

I’m in tears! what a story.
Well. I’m crying as I write this review. I can’t say I’m completely happy with the ending. But the sweet twist at the end made it more endurable. This would have to be my favorite of all Jeff Wheeler’s series. Very emotional. Beautifully written. Thank you, Mr. Wheeler. Thank you for such a tale! Loved it!

A touching conclusion
I have loved Ransom and Claire for a long time, and admit to delaying reading this for fear their story might not have a happy ending. But even so, Wheeler is a master of weaving tales, and whilst sad, I feel satisfied by their conclusion. Each of his books is stronger than the last, and his universes with all their interlinking intricacies are rivals to the greats such as Tolkien and Martin. This one is no different. I have gasped, cheered, cried, and felt peace at the conclusion of this tale.Thank you for your words, Jeff, and thank you for Ransom.

What a fantastic ending to a great series
This release was in my diary. All books currently being read were paused. Sadly I devoured it too quickly but at least I can read the whole series again without waiting for any releases, and I will do soon.As with the rest of the series (and in truth, all of Mr Wheeler's stories) this book packed a lot of punches. There is no lack of intrigue. Will fairweather friends come through or stab you in the back; will the fountain continue to support Ransom; will his children survive; will his wife tire of his ceaseless support of the Argentine line?So many questions, and answers you won't always like but the story grabs you and doesn't let up until the end.I hope you enjoy this book and this series as much as I have. Mr Wheeler is a fantastic author who is so good at weaving storylines around an element of history and making it so believable. I think all his books would make excellent films or TV series.I haven't mentioned the actual story, as one, you have the book blurb for that but also I don't want in any way to spoil it for you, the reader. So 5 ☆ for this book and for this series. It does not disappoint. 😎

Hate the ending
So I have just finished the series. In every book it just seemed like the bad guys won and the good guys just about scraped through. It got very frustrating. But I persevered. For instance Ransom could kill loads of knights but not the poisoner. The last book told me why he could never kill the poisoner. She was needed for the last bookI absolutely hated the ending.I feel so upset, angry and cheated

Total Rubbish
The main character, Ransom, is a mazochistical maniac trying to become saint incarnate. The author is probably influend by his Christian values that makes his writing totally unreasonable. He forgets people that serve him and his family for the sak of other maniacs. Probably, this is the last book of this mazochistical author that I read

Brilliant
I have to admit to shedding a year at Ramsoms death. I still think that he should not have had to die, it was the only part of the book I did not like.
