This meter seems, at this point anyway, is a good way to measure pH in liquids. After calibration, I found my rainwater is 7.75, tap water from the area pipeline is 7.15. Adding my African Violet fertilizer to the rainwater brings it down to 5.75. The latter is pretty close to ideal. Adjusting water pH is the easiest way to keep the proper pH on Violets.Calibration needs your full attention because the instructions are in small white print on a blue background; my eyesight required finding the magnifying glass. Am looking forward to continued use for this meter. Thank you.

I had this for over a year and didn't get around to calibrating and using it due to a move. When I finally returned to home brewing and decided to calibrate it I could not get it to calibrate properly. It would also not stabilize, but rather would slowly decrease the reading. I'll be throwing this unit in the trash and trying something else for my brewing measurements..Edit: I forgot to mention that I let it sit in distilled water for at least 3 hours before attempting to calibrate.

I bought this to use to test the PH of the beer that I brew, but I couldn't even use this product for my intentions or anything else because it wouldn't calibrate. I used the mixture in distilled water, and followed the directions to calibrate for the lower PH levels. But once I dipped it into the high pH mixture (I think it was 6 point something) it wouldn't change to the next pH level to test the next level in order to finish calibrating. I tried several times for 30 minutes but nothing worked.This is my first negative review but DO NOT buy this product.

Mine did not work right out of box can't get ahold of anyone to replace won't buy again if you've got the extra cash to waste go for it.It's a huge hassle to return things when they won't get back with you.These cheap meters are not worth it.Save your cash buy pH drops that's what I did.This is 2 me cheap meter I've purchased but the oakaton is crap to stopped working after 4 months.I'm going to buy blue lab should have did from start.

Received Qimius Digital pH Meter on time. I have purchased the same type and style of ph tester about 8 years ago and was very disappointed in its performance. I ordered this hoping that the quality, performance and ease of calibration had improved but I was disappointed that nothing has improved in those 8 years. Sad to say this will go into the trash as its not worth my time to send this back. I have read this item is returnable if the item has a defect but the cost of time and postage is not worth it. Due to the calibration being so very touchy and the location of the buttons in the middle of the pen, you must hold the pen steady while not getting the water to far up the pen and then having to press the CAL button for 3 seconds and then waiting for the numbers stop flashing 3 times then quickly pressing the CAL again to set it. This calibration I just described is the second step as you must first calibrate the higher ph first which is easier but WHEN the second step is screwed up you must go back and redo the first step, its a mess. Using the liquid ph testing kits are much better in the long run for Ease of Use and Accuracy and Reliability

Before purchasing I read a lot of reviews about the difficulty of calibration. The powder was a bit difficult to mix into the distilled water,, but after that was done and following the instructions, the calibration ended up being a breeze. The readout is easily visible and the storing case is a nice touch as well. Because this is my first meter ever owned, it is hard for me to compare with other products. but I cant imagine the more expensive ones being any better than this economic beauty.

Myn broke after a month. Worked Great before that. Locked out at '7.00' tried unplugging the batteries, re calibrating it with mult. different solutions @ 6.18, 4.00, 9.18 and it would never switch from '7.00'
