Follow the instructions.
Fit is exactly how a kilt is supposed to fit, where it is supposed to be worn. The seller indicates that kilt size does not equal pants size--if you don't know your kilt size, figure out how to measure it. A kilt is worn at the waist, not the hips as modern men's pants are. Like most kilts, the size is adjustable to a degree, but it's not going to fit if you order the wrong size. It's made from a cotton canvas/work pant-type material. The hardware is acceptably durable, but obviously not meant for heavy-duty applications, which isn't a surprise given that the description lists it as casual and for daily wear. . .Considering similar kilts can easily cost twice as much as this, I'd say it's a good value.Time will tell, but I'm satisfied with the purchase.

Excellent quality
Amazing quality at an affordable price! I’ve worn this all month at several outdoor events . I make kettle corn 10-12 hours a day at these events and this kilt has kept me safe from the heat of the kettle but cool and comfortable as well. Best investment ever.

Nice quality but careful on size
I am impressed with the quality of the material and construction but be careful on sizingI wear a 36 in pants so ordered a 38 to be safe, planning on wearing it on my hips not stomach. Had to return it and get a 40, which fits tight enough on the hips to not need a belt.

Irish kilt
I bought it for my son and he loves it . He wears kilts even to wok , our background is Irish / scottish . The kilt runs small so measure yourself before ordering

Not designed for fat people, even the size 50
The pleats are stitched partway down from the band. If you are big enough that you have to wear this on your hips instead of at your bellybutton, then when you move around and sit, that stitching will tear out. There are no rivets in key places either. Also, it runs a little snug for the size listed, and there are only a couple snaps. It is good for spring and summer activities. It looks nice with the contrast stitching. The integrated utility pouches on each hip are well placed and good sized.Understand that this is a wrap skirt, and not exactly a kilt. That's kind of where the universe is with kilts right now.In public nobody seemed to care, and at a club, I got one of the first compliments I've gotten in a long time wearing a similar kilt. I'm in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Somewhat conservative, but also Texas has a huge Scottish population.

Rusting in the package
The metal fasteners all feel extremely cheap and some of them were already rusting inside the bag before I opened it. Then I tried it on and found it was easily 1" too big.

Fits Small
The kilt is excellently constructed and well made. Very good quality. However, it fits at least a size smaller than expected and, if you are using other pants as a reference, actually do the waist measurement for accuracy. For example: I wear waist size 38 jeans from Old Navy and size 40 dress pants; the kilt is very tight with a 42 waist.

size fits smaller than normal. I would recommend a size up
I ordered per my jean size, which fit really loose on me. This was probably 2" tighter than normal (42x30 size)
