Mental Marksmanship review
Hands down the best book I have read on the mental aspect of marksmanship (and I've read a lot). Most other authors either skip this area entirely, focus on the mechanics of shooting only or try to fill your head with mysticism, smoke and mirrors but this book is different. There are tons of stories which illustrate the things that the author is trying to convey. The book is easy to read and provides a clear path to improve your shooting. It's interesting that you could apply a good portion of the advice to areas other than shooting and they would be equally effective. The author is clear that you have to practice and implement the advice if you want to see any improvement so if you are looking to just read the book and nothing else you won't get much out of it. There are so many good parts that I found it difficult to get through a chapter without highlighting or bookmarking a ton of pages. While the book is focused mainly on rifle marksmanship the approach works for pistol marksmanship as well with minor adjustments. Highly recommended reading!

Want to go to the next level?
I shoot competition rifle and htis year I wanted to take my game to the next level. About half way through my season I could tell something was holding me back and decided to purchase this book. Suddenly everything started to make sense. It takes a lot of things you already know but might not realize how to utilize and puts them on paper. I immediately saw an improvement and started winning matches. Just reading part of the book put my head in the game prior to a big match. They do a great job of explaining the theory and then proving it with specific examples. Linda and Keith really know how to win too and while this book is generally geared towards shooting it's very easily transferrable to any other sport or just life in general. The mind is a powerful thing and a lot of times you don't think about it. While reading this book I could see direct reflection from my life of why I did something well and then it all made sense. This book is a must read who wants to get ahead or stay on top. It's well written and easy to understand and the methods and theory in this book work.

Very useful information...........
This is the type of book that you read through once, and then go back to reread several sections to obtain the greatest benefit from the book. The authors answered several questions about shooting that I had and seem to be common to other shooters as well. As a firearms instructor, there is material which will me coach shooters better and also improve my shooting. You may not agree with everything in the book, but try to read it with an open mind- there are a lot of interesting concepts presented. I enjoyed the examples of different concepts/ideas presented in the military, law enforcement, hunting, and competition stories.Again, if you look at these techniques/ideas with an open mind and try using them, they will make you a better shooter and allow you to help coach other shooters.

Improve your mental focus - in all aspects of your life
When I picked up this book, it was only because I saw that Lt. Col. Dave Grossman wrote the foreword - giving the authors such high praise. I was not disappointed. Simply put - this book is outstanding. Its approach to the subject of developing and enhancing mental acuity is as unique as it is relevant and accurate. AS the book begins - in so many high stakes matters in life - "only hits count." I recommend this book now to my clients, friends, and family members. Anyone who may need to make critical decisions under pressure, remain calm in the face of intense stress, or perform at high levels in high stakes situations NEEDS to read and study this book.

Thought price was high, but found it was worth it
I compete or participate just at the local club level. Someone with a coach or professional instruction may not need this book. I have learned all my lessons the long and hard way, on my own. This book explains, however simply, ways to improve performance on the line , as well as to make the best with practice. specific examples are listed as chapter summaries. As someone who has some experience in stressful sports and endeavors, the mental aspects of competitive shooting ring true in other sports, and life in general. Seeing the price tag it took me a few seconds to press the "order" button, I am glad I did.

Well written and informative.
This book is a must for any serious long range shooter; competitor, LE or hunter, It covers a fairly difficult to define subject matter in an easy to read, logical and informative manner. The fear is sometimes these books are written by a psychologist and they are too dry of a read. This book is written by well seasoned shooters and the trainers of the people you aspire to emulate.

Lifelong winners share their experiences
If your job is to shoot for a living, you can learn something from these two, well worth buying if you’re MIL or in LE and carry daily, be it for assault, sniping, or just patrolling. For hunters, there is rock solid advice in here on how to become a better shooter and thus, a better hunter.Highly recommend this book and their other two books (on Hunting and on Wind reading). I learned quite a bit and it allowed me to look at my service experience from a new perspective, having served in combat in my youth. There’s gold in in these pages, if you are willing to pan it out.
