Guppy Up! (Penguin Young Readers, Level 1)

My son just graduated Kindergarten so he is a beginner reader. This book was perfect for him. Obviously it is not a Dr Seuss book, but it flows like one. It rhymes, has smaller words, and the pictures are hilarious. We were actually laughing out loud while looking at the pictures. How often do you get to see a fish holding a hammer? :) Out of 20+ pages there were only 2 words my 6 year old needed help on, so it is a great book to build confidence in kids learning how to read. It is also hilarious! He is taking it to daycare today to read it to the smaller kids. A+

Liked other penguin books better but this was still a good addition

Great book!

This book is adorable! My five year old loves it. It's really easy to read. The phrases rhyme so he's able to guess what it says. This is a good book to get kids started on recognizing simple words. And the illustrations are really cute!

Very good beginner reader

This book is so darn cute that I ended up getting Jonathon's other book "Love is in the Air" also. Decided they would make great gifts for the little nieces and nephews in our family.

My kindergartener LOVES this book, as do her classmates.

My kids and I love this book. The pictures are fun and the words flow almost like a song. I would recommend the book to anyone with a young reader.

Children love this book. It is a clever play with words that acquaints them with new vocabulary in an amusing way. It makes especially the small ones LOL.
