UPDATE: Reached out to GAME customer service and they sent our a replacement valve for the filter within 2 days via expedited shipping and I had it replaced within the week. Effortless replacement and interaction. Despite the valve handle snapping, GAME customer service provided guidance on how best to avoid that happening in the future, as it was most likely filter sand getting sucked up into the valve and stuck in the valve, making it seize. Since I have made the suggested changes I haven't had any issues the rest of the season. Truly satisfied.Almost 60-days to the day and the handle snapped of when attempted to switch from filtration to backwash on the filter valve. Noticed the weeks prior that the valve was getting more difficult to turn, but thought nothing of it. Then today when I went out to clean the pool, attempted to turn the valve and it snapped off. No easy way to repair, looks like I’ll have to replace the entire top valve unit on the filter.Very disappointed, as otherwise we were extremely happy with the purchase until today. Easy to install and setup, instructions were well-written and clear. Purchased additional tubing and valves onto the pool to accommodate the new pump. Filtration and circulation were great. Pool was running clean and clear without issue on the new filter/pump.

First off: DO NOT GO BY WHAT THEY TELL YOU IN THE YOUTUBE VIDEO ABOUT JUST HAND TIGHTENING EVERYTHING. THEY ARE NUTS.Second: This IS NOT a 20 minute setup. It takes that long to put Teflon tape on All of the connectors and lube ALL OF THE O RINGS. And you better wrap each piece about 4 times with Teflon tape because they will leak if you don’t.Third: Before you even think about placing sand in the tank, make sure the tank drain is TIGHT TIGHT TIGHT. ADD WATER TO THE TANK AND MAKE SURE ITS NOT LEAKING. IF YOU ADD SAND AND ITS LEAKING, you are in for a long, messy, wet sand experience. You will have to dump the tank of sand in a bucket and start all over.Now. Far as the pump goes. It’s super quiet. Much quieter than the pump that came with our Intex 18x48 metal frame pool. It’s also has plenty of power (50D) model. First complaint I have about the pump is the short power cord they supply with it. It’s about 6ft long. Not sure what they were thinking with such a short cord. Second. No way to turn the pump off other than unplugging it. Again. Big inconvenience. They could have easily added a timer switch or at least a power switch.I’ll update this review after a month of use. It’s 5/21/22 today.

This item is perfect for what I knew at the time. Now that I know more, I wish I would of researched a little more. No timer, on /off switch and no waste water choice. It does great for the job that is intended for. It does EXACTLY what I wanted it to do. Perfect little pump. Takes care of my 12x30 intex pool so wonderfully. I hot exactly what I wanted. And a great price too!

All ports on the system use 1 1/2" pipe thread making it easy to upgrade anything on the system, not proprietary to one brand of pool.comes with fittings for either 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" push on hose clamp style hoses, or has adapters INCLUDED to use bestway/intex screw on 1 1/2" hoses and includes 2 rubber washers to use with the screw on type hoses.make sure to use a good 3-4 wraps of the supplied teflon tape on all the fitting that screw into the pump and filter or they will leak.The only negative that I saw is that the hose that connects the pump to filter is 1 1/4" not a deal breaker I was just being me...and upgraded it to my liking.24hrs later the pool water is CRYSTAL clear 100% would recommend!

I spent years struggling to keep the pool clean with paper filters. This filter has made pool maintenance a breeze. I will never go back to paper filters. The hardest part of cleaning the sand filter, is unplugging the pump. It's so simple and easy to mantain. If you are tired of rinsing paper filters just to have them clog up in a few days, this is highly recommended.

The basket screw on top leaks from the rubber o-Ring and there is no way of keeping it from leaking because u need to remove debris a lot 🤷🏼‍♂️. The company should fix this issue!!!

So far so good. These things are tough to find. Way better than the original filter that came with our 8,000 gallon above ground. We purchased our pool from sams it's a bestway 8000 gallon. We had to clean the filter that came with it at least once per day. Have not had to back wash this going on a week now. (Backwash is about once a week....not a big deal. Just tells me it's doing it's job.)Instructions could be better but you can figure them out. Mine were in English and other languages. Lubricate all o rings. Use Teflon tape on all threads. Make sure your existing hoses line up right..... if they don't it will leak.. Didn't need to purchase any additional fittings. Bought the quickcreat sand from home depot for 10$ takes 50lb 1 bag. No issues as long as you follow back wash directions prior to filtering pool! No sand in pool.. Overall good filter so far!
