Likable characters
I’ve read all the books, and learned to look forward to what comes next. The author is a clever writer and keeps the interest going. The characters are believable and interesting.

Lucy has a new feline friend—finally
Murder after murder in Sam’s little town. This one puts the team in the trail of a current serial killer and solve a five-year old cold case. But is it the end? Apparently not as Lucy once again unearths—literally—a new clue. The characters have become old friends for readers in this series and the four-legged ones are all endearing.

I wish there were more books in this series!
This is the last of the series, it follows a long convoluted tale of a serial killer preying upon a small town, interspersed with the normal crime of daily life. After a five year hiatus, a young girl is kidnapped and murdered, putting the whole town on alert. They thought they had the right man already but he was in jail at the time of the new one. A key piece of evidence is in jeopardy of being thrown out and the new case is stalled as clues are slow to come in. After several months, Kevin is showing signs of waking from his coma but his memory is shaky at best, with large gaps. A second abduction brings everything to a head as leads come in and a rescue is in order to save the girl's life.

Just disappointed
I've finished the six books. I'm disappointed in Sam and Jo. They are turning into the type of law officer we are beginning to fear. They spend too much time trying to make Thorne guilty before making sure they really investigate and have the facts. They "want" to tie Thorne to the crimes. They never remember "innocent until proven guilty.". The dog is great, too great. We'll see if I read more.

Dull and lifeless. Put me to sleep
This is a long winded lifeless story about police in America trying to catch a murderer. As so often seems to happen these days in novels the police decide randomly who is guilty and try to find evidence to prove it while the contented murderer just goes about his business. The book constantly refers to things which I gather have happened in other books at other times. As a result it was disjointed and very hard to follow. It just did not flow. I found myself falling asleep time after time with this book

Very nice mid western thriller
Quite a good read, the characters are very cautious about each other. Seems wonderful that they get any work done, whilst working out if they are being too careful with their colleagues.Strange read.

Killer story
Lucas Thorne may be innocent of some murders but Sam wants him locked up for good. It might happen still. Happy ending for the most part and a guilty killer caught.

Cop thriller
The story is slow to start but soon gets going. Star of the story is Lucy the dog who helps to track the killer.
