STOP READ THIS BEFORE YOU BUY THIS PRODUCT
This product has the most finicky naming and password restrictions of any product I have used in 20 years.Have a space in your network name - THIS PRODUCT WON'T WORKHave a special character in your network name - THIS PRODUCT WON'T WORKHave a special character in for your password - THIS PRODUCT WON'T WORKBasically, if you are practicing good network security, this product will never join your network and you will be out $60. I ended up creating a guest network with only alphanumeric characters and finally got it work. Unless you are prepared to change your network to accommodate this product it's unlikely to work for you.Once you do get it setup it does what it says, and reboots itself if your internet connection drops.

IT WORKS, but you might need a little help - here's some of it.
I'm giving this a 5 star rating because of the help I got from customer service (even at 1 a.m.!!) This item is a little trickier that one might suspect especially, if, like me, you're not a computer geek. When I couldn't find the appropriate wifi network, per the instruction book, I sent an email to the seller and at 1:05 a.m. Mountain Time, I got a reply. You won't find customer service like that very often. That individual worked with me over the course of the next day until I was able to make the device connect properly. Here are some things you might need to know to get it set up: Some of this is in the booklet that accompanies the plug, but some is not.1) In the instruction book, after steps 1 & 2 - at step 3 the directions say to scan for wi-fi networks. I use a desktop computer and couldn't find any way to scan for wifi. My desktop uses an ethernet cable. Turns out there is no way to scan for wifi if you have an ethernet cable connection (obvious if you think about it). However, you can scan on any device so eventually I used my cell phone and was able to connect to the wifi network that the ResetPlug itself broadcasts called ResetPlugSetup. When you connect with that just fool around with it a little and you'll find your way to continuing the necessary setup.2) According to their customer service guy, 2.4GHz must be enabled on your router. If you only have 5GHz the ResetPlug can't connect. I have no idea how you go about determining what you have. I was lucky. My router had 2.4GHz enabled.3) You MUST enter the EXACT SSID name of your router with all the appropriate letters capitalized and no spaces. Same with your password. If you don't know what those 2 items are you can find out by calling your internet service provider and asking. There's probably a way to do it without the call but I don't know how to do that. I had mine written on my router. There are some other symbols, etc. that you can't use, - they are listed in the instruction book. If your SSID or password contains any of those the book says you have to change your router name and/or password so they don't contain any of the "no-no"s.And finally, I had to try 5 times to get the ResetPlug to connect properly. I was using the appropriate protocol according to the instructions, and I was entering the correct information each time but for some reason the ResetPlug wasn't happy the 1st 4 times. I mention that just to encourage you not to give up if it doesn't connect properly on the first try. You'll know if it's not right if the blue light keeps blinking rapidly and the device keeps resetting your router. You want that blue light to be a continuous nice solid blue.

Works well..
These work well. Bench tested, then put them in our branch offices attached to cable modems to help eliminate costly travel time just to reset a modem. The only thing that could be better would be a more low-profile plug so they could play nicely with other items plugged into a nearby outlet, or in a PDU.

Use caution if you have special characters in your WiFi Password!
This is garbage. You can't have +, !, ^, #. !. /, \. ', ", ; chars in your WiFi password. You can't have spaces in your WiFi name. Really sucks because for me to use this on my primary WiFi i have to go pick a new password that doesn't have any of those and I can't use my Guest WiFi since that WiFi name has a space in it. Do they really not know how to handle these characters in a string? So now I'm left to possibly change my WiFi password and then go around reprogramming all of my smart devices including my Ring Floodlight where I need a ladder to go up and reset it. What a pain this plug is. Waste of money for me.

Now works with SSID's having special characters
I usually avoid public reviews, but thought of sharing my experience after interacting with support, firmware updates, testing and power outages.Initially, when I had purchased this device, it didn't work. After some research and reading other reviews I discovered it won't work if your network password had special characters such as !?@&$ etc.I reached out to support that gave a prompt response and confirmed. I would have been disappointed but support offered 2 additional items. The following may be a bit technical for folks --1) To set up on a guest network without special characters. I already had one so tested with this and it worked. However, this would have been a "workaround" and unacceptable to me in terms of network security. Because of (2) below, I'm glad things changed.2) Updated firmwareSupport also reassured me that an updated firmware release would resolve the concern very shortly. This was within the window of return by Amazon, so I decided to hold on to it for a bit.Yes -- eventually the firmware was updated & things worked as expected with special characters.Functionality:His may be a bit advanced / technical to some readers....I use this plug with a in-home UPS, which connects to my cable modem / router. Should there be a power outage and the battery drains completely, it needs a physical person to reset the UPS. Not any more!(Not sure of the inventor has thought of this scenario, but this can also be a potential new market segment.)I tested extensively with the circuit breakers off and eventually did have a power outage in my area. When the power came back on, the reset plug took over and did exactly what it was supposed to.4 Stars:Why I gave it a 5 was because some of the initial limitations were not clearly listed & I had to spend some considerable time in troubleshooting and learning if limitations -- now resolved.I also think the setup instructions can somewhow be simplified. There was a typo in the online acknowledgement so I felt this was a bit rushed. This product does have great potential, now works as advertised and I would recommend others to purchase.
