Old Maid Card Game By Hoyle 1995

Fun game and great deck. Geared for youngest of kids.

We have just finished playing this game with grandson 5. He enjoyed the game and was quite happy Nanna ended up with the 'old maid'. My first impression was the cards were flimsy, but was surprised they were stronger than they looked. The box end was unstuck when they arrived, which I stuck down, a small thing but needed to be done to make the box serviceable. For the price, a good little game, bright, colourful pictures of familiars for children.

I don't normally write product reviews; on the whole, products arrive and are satisfactory. This card game, however, is a big disappointment - particularly to my grandchildren who enjoy playing Old Maid. With a few exceptions, there are no character illustrations on the face of the cards. Instead, there are varying numbers of leaves (yes, leaves), which at first glance look rather like the back of the cards, so there's some confusion before the game starts. The producers of these cards have succeeded in turning an exciting game into one of the most boring.Any good points? Yes, the quality of the cards and their packaging is excellent.
