I purchased these aerator shoes a couple of weeks ago. They came without instructions (obvious, in retrospect, but I had to look at the picture for strap location). Also did not have the bonus small wrench as advertised. Fortunately I had one that was the right size.They work as advertised, but don't let anyone tell you it's as easy as walking. It's not. I wore them while mowing and it took awhile to learn to walk slowly while lifting my feet straight up. If you don't walk correctly the straps tend to come loose. It helps to tighten them periodically but that is hard to do while mowing because you have to stop and start the mower a lot.

I tried this product for the first time this weekend (Labor Day 2016). I live in northern New England and we are in the midst of an extended drought so my lawn is nearly bullet proof right now. I was hoping this would allow me to maximize the effectiveness of my watering efforts.If you have a decent sized lawn (mine is roughly 1/4 acre) and are looking to aerate, this is NOT the answer. I think it might be effective for smaller patch-type projects but it would take forever to effectively cover your whole lawn. I also need to figure out how to better secure them as they kept coming off even when I really cranked down on the cinch straps.The product also came without any directions which I found to be a little odd. I will use them from time to time for small areas but otherwise they will just occupy space in my shed.

Seller stiffed me for full set of nuts and spikes. No response to my contact.... If I hadn't been able to find replacement nuts and figure out way to jury-rig the straps to make them work OK, I'd give them a "0".

Works as advertised and it's good exercise when you use them

The straps frayed quickly. When the lawn was damp the spikes would create sizeable divots when turning . After the lawn was mowed a couple spikes needed to be tightened. I do believe these shoes help with aeration of the lawn .

There are only two straps per shoe not three. As a result, it is very difficult to keep the aerator shoes from coming off while in use.

My husband is obsessed with our lawn. He wanted to purchase a large aerator machine or hire a lawn service but I requested that he try these first. These work so well that he no longer wants to buy or rent a machine to aerate the lawn! The metal spikes are very durable and attach securely to the bottom of the shoes. The adjustable straps make them comfortable to walk around in – we have about 1 acre and he’s able to do the entire yard in one shot. They’re painless to hose off when you’re finished. These lawn aerator shoes are pretty cool! My husband used them when they came in and hopefully they will work. The strap kept coming loose on his foot, but they went into the ground easily. They are not hard to walk in, but you do have to get used to the way you have to walk with them on. They are not too heavy and got the job done. I am giving them a 4 out of 5 review due to the straps coming loose and having to keep tightening them. Overall good product and not too heavy, which is a plus!
