Very handy little travel guide
A very handy little travel guide that contains a reasonable amount of information on where to go and see, focusing on top 10 restaurants, top 10 museums, etc. It manages to pack a lot into not much space, while remaining easy to read, and has the advantage of being quite small so easy to carry around. Four stars.

Great little pocket book
I think this is worth getting for the pull out maps alone. They are full colour and detailed. You get 11 neighbourhood maps. And there is one main laminated pull out map.

Personally, I think that a week in London is still too little! The guide listed all of the most interesting and must-see places in the city from iconic places to great restaurants and shopping malls or markets.A laminated pull-out map of London is a great addition. The guide is small and fits any travel bag.Highly recommended for any tourist!

Another fine DK guide
This 192-page guide is eminently pocketable, weighing just over 270g and measuring about 190 x 100 x 14 mm. Even as someone who has lived in Westminster, in the heart of London, I’ve loved browsing the book and learned a lot.London is a wonderful city. The more I travel, the more I appreciate London, even with its many faults. This guide will leave you itching to visit. Give yourself as much time as possible, ideally a week or more. The book is up to the usual DK standard, with superb illustrations and a detailed pull-out map with street index. The general content and layout are what you’d expect of DK. It starts with 2-day and 4-day itineraries, then ‘Top 10 highlights’ with 2-4 pages dedicated to each. Next, ‘Top 10 of everything’, where ‘everything’ comprises features such as Moments in history, Royal London, Museums & galleries, Off the beaten track, Children’s attractions. Then there’s ‘London area by area’, and finally Streetsmart with lots of practical information. This certainly deserves a very strong recommendation. I’d probably supplement it with LP, RG or similar (not really pocketable so maybe leave in the hotel) for more detail on things like accommodation and dining, opening hours and entrance charges.

Great map! Fun read!
Love this series of travel books. They are a lighter, easier read... top 10 lists, lots of photos, and interesting side notes. But, I really bought it for the great pull-out map! It was so hard to find maps, and this map "came with" a great book! It tucks neatly inside a cover pocket, with additional fold-out maps in the covers, and the whole book fits nicely in a medium-to-large purse or backpack. The map is also coated so it should stand up to use and may even take a dry erase-type pen. I mostly wanted it for planning so I could see the whole city in front of me. But... for real *detailed* info, you might want a Rick Steves-type book, but this series is a great place to get started with the basics.

The map is worth the whole book
I adore the laminated pocket maps that DK puts in these guides. This one was fantastic for quickly checking the Tube routes and I used it constantly. The book also pointed out some attractions I hadn't heard of and that added a lot of value.I get one of the DK pocket books for every major trip. This one joins Paris, Rome, Athens, and New York. Highly recommend

Easy to use; excellent for first-time visitors
DK's Top 10 Pocket Travel Guides are excellent, and London is no exception. The small size makes it easy to take with you, and the format is highly functional. Well-organized and easy to use. The foldout maps are especially helpful.

Font size 3, who would have thought!
Book looked interesting with potentially lots of good information, but who is travelling these days? Older folks who have a hard time seeing smaller print. It was not that clear in the description how small the book and print was! So the maps and much of the Information are basically useless because the font size is so small, really who would do this, making a travel information book with font so small that they can not be ready even with powerful readers!

Recieved as described
Book is easy to carry but full of great resources. I got this book for the nice removable map included. Many smaller maps with good details. Good condition. Arrived earlier than expected.
