This is a centuries-old, simple, proven Eastern European design, and it works astonishingly well. Sharp, perfectly spaced blades and sturdy wood frame. Triple blades make short work of a head of cabbage - cut it into quarters and run the pieces across the blades. Each quarter takes 15-20 seconds.***Be careful - if you do not pay attention to the task at hand or are unable to very firmly grip and hold the the vegetable, these blades will eat your fingertips and ask for more. Cut-resistant gloves are a good idea for anyone with weaker grip or prone to accidents. ***Cleaning is easy - rinse, carefully clean the blade gaps with an old toothbrush, and air dry. Do not run this through your dishwasher, and it’ll serve you for decades.

Brilliant product for making coleslaw. Easy to clean. No wonder it's used for sauerkraut. Much better than mandolins, electric graters and spiralisers. Large size is big enough for a halved full size cabbage. 20 seconds done and no dismantling. Love it!!!!!
