DIGIMON X Bandai Digivice Virtual Pet Monster - Black & Red (41921)

First of all if you like Digimon this is an easy buy and worth the price. I purchased a few, 2 shown in attached photos they arrived just as I expected with no issues. I do have to mention this was a sudden impulse buy and I had trouble understanding the difference between them as there are so many but I picked a few figuring out the differences only after looking up a fan website guide. The official website did not go into detail about the devices. If you were going to get only one I would recommend the X over the 20th anniversary edition, the critical difference between the two is the X has a freezer/pause mode that allows you to store the digimon for as long as you want allowing you to leave it home without it dying like the 20th...I gave it 5 stars as the product was great for what it is but that being said there is plenty room for improvement. I appreciate all the different colors but there is so many to have exclusive digimon, it would be great if each color changed the default digimon but you still had access to all the digimon. I know the goal of this product is to stay faithful to the original but it would be nice to have new features and things to do on the device. I mean if you are expecting customers to collect as many as they can it would make sense to keep them engaged with more content. But overall it's ok, it's exactly as i expected but i just wish it was a little more.Some additional notes about the product, I modded the device as can be seen in the pictures I attached. The shells of the 20th anniversary and the X are the same dimensions. You can see I swapped the black back end of one with the green translucent back of the other. I removed the picture behind the screen and replaced it with glow in the dark tape and it works quite well. I have 2 sets of Phillips screw drivers and none of them worked well with the 3 different sized screws on the device. That might be useful info to a buyer who is interested in modding the device

I'll start off by saying the Cold Mode is the main reason I got the Digimon X over the Version 20th. As someone that works long shifts with breaks being more spaced out, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to really engage with my Digimon for most of its life. Especially where Care Mistakes were involved! Thanks to Cold Mode I've been able to put my Digimon on pause when life gets busy, this way here I can actually participate in my Digimon's life cycle!Otherwise the quest mode is really fun! It's cool to be able to train my Digimon and have it go up against other Digimon, particularly with the Boss digimon. I will admit the RNG can be a real pain, but that's par-for-the-course with Digimon from my understanding of it.If I had one complaint (and it's a small one) It's that there was no version of the Digimon X that would have allowed me to raise a Gomamon X-Antibody (it's exclusively an Enemy Digimon). Either way, I'll definitely be looking into getting another Digimon V-pet sometime in the future!

I've had the Digimon X for a day so far and I've really been enjoying it. It has everything the Ver. 20th had that made it fun plus some. I enjoy the Xai system and I find the training on this device to be even more enjoyable than the Ver. 20th. Having the Xai determine how fast the bar moves is really fun and adds a challenge to battles and training, while at the same time not making it feel unfair. If anyone is new to Digimon V-pets I highly recommend this to start your adventure!

My son liked but he is not crazy about it. He tends to play with it and then forgets it for a while. At least he still plays it.

I'm a 30 years old guy, I bought this after watching a random youtube video and was like "hey i had a tamagotchi growing up, never knew something like this existed for Digimon" and so i bought it, i take it with me to work haha, its fun man, these things aged well, the screen is very reflective so this thing doesn't really need a backlit screen, the training and fighting part is what makes you interact with the game often and to me its what makes it fun, tamagotchis didn't have this type of interaction as far as i remember, it kinda makes you restart the game again and again even after you finish all the arenas, also the fact that you evolve into different Digimons every time you start over !

Bought for my husband and he loves his little Digimon.

A huge upgrade from the regular 20th anniversary Digivice. It has a RNG system that adds random encounters, and you actively have to climb multiple floors to unlock all the potential evolution paths for your Digimon. It also has a nice Quality of Life improvement where you can raise 3 Digimon at a time, mash the buttons to keep them alive when they're dying, and Freeze them so they don't die when you're busy at school or work. Only downside is that once you've gotten the Digimon that you want, the gameplay really slows down and you basically just gotta keep your max level Digimon alive as long as possible. It was fun for like 2-3 weeks. Amazing price compared to the import. Overall Good buy if you're a Digimon fan.

This is a fun upgrade to the original Digimon V-pet. The addition of a “freeze” mode to preserve your Digital Monster while it’s not in use is handy so it won’t expire or chime alerts at times where one needs it paused. I had fun trying to reach desired evolutionary states, with various degrees of success.For someone with experience with the original Digital Monster, this is an awesome step up.

What a fun time I've had with this. These have more features than the one I use to play with in elementary. Being the only adult male. I know that'd buy a toy, I don't have anyone to battle but you can do quests and that scratches that battle itch the OG ones can't provide. I love it.

Já tinha ouvido falar dos V-pets de Digimon, mas n imaginava q era tão divertido. Passei um tempinho jogando com ele até o Digimon cair no sono. Gostei.

Es entretenido, mejor de lo que esperaba, muy bien diseñado, resistente, la cadena para llavero es muy resistente. Es un RPG en la palma de tu mano, llegó la paquetería en la mitad del tiempo estimado, ya compre otro que está por llegar. 100% recomendado.

Não fui taxado e chegou em duas semanas.
