Return to Lonesome Dove

Great movie, must see!

I now have the complete Lonesome dove series . I enjoy it .

Loved 'Return'. Maybe my only criticism is that it ended. I feel wondering about Newt, where he went, who he metand how he made out. Wondering too about the adventure PeaEye will go on getting Clara Allen back to Ogalalla.Will it have the turns of fortune the Cpt. Call encountered? Would we see PeaEye with a wife?!Wondering how that new horse Woodrow envisioned turned out. A commercial success? Will Captain Call arrangefor ten horses to be sent to the Indian chief who helped him out. Or at least to let him know what happened to hissister Many Tears.It's a little odd that McMurtry would be put off by Return. Envy? It certainly contains his tendency to include unexpectedtwists to the story. Kind of glad Gregor finally got what was coming to him, although I'm not quite sure who shot him, Newtor the Captain.Seems like the critical Clara warmed up to Woodrow at the end. Was it just that they buried the hatchet or was there thebeginning of something more.Nice that Augustina and July became pals. Just watch her temper July!Is it just me or is the ranch setting not quite as nice as the Lonesome Dove ranch?

Return to Lonesome Dove This DVD is easy to confuse with DVDs saying that they are the full movie but are not. I had to order this title 3 times before I got the full 2-disc DVD of the original movie. Good action and a fine cast Peterson stands out and Jon does a decent job as Woodrow. Nia Peeples is a good addition to the cast and Louis Gossett Jr is always welcome in any genre of movie. You won't be disappointed with this one and I also suggest "Comanche Moon",,,,Gus and Woodrow when they were just starting out as Rangers and the questions about Maggie, Newt's mother are answered. Enjoy, I do again and again!

This was well done for a sequel, but it was impossible not to miss Tommy Lee Jones as Captain Call. It had enough of the original cast for continuity, but Jon Voight and Barbara Hershey just didn't seem to fit. The strong Texas accent kept disappearing and when it was there, it didn't feel authentic.The scenery was stunning and the photography great, but it had too many breaks in the action - for commercials, since this was for television.Overall, it was a good continuation of the story and gave it a sense of closure.

It projects what most people beleive to be true about the times, lifestyles, actions and behavior of both good and evil men and the hardships the average person endured during westward expansion. The ending of the movie shows the corruption from the political establishment in early America and you realize that the "D.C. Swamp" has been deep-rooted for 200 years. Even in these times Bills and laws were passed to take advantage of the early settlers and confrontations were bloody....

After watching this film,I truly believe that it's on a "par" with the first original "Lonesome Dove"! The acting was suberb,with special stand-out's,Jon Voight,Barbara Hershey,Oliver Reed,Rick Shroeder and the gentleman who played "Pete" If any one noticed that each and every time Pete would be talking to a woman,he would take his hat off and "bow his head" out of repect! Beautiful scenery(again),they also repeated the fact that in both "Lonesome Dove's" they had a black man play the "tracker",Danny Glover in "Lonesome Dove",and Lou Gossett,Jr,in "Return To Lonesome Dove".5 thumbs up for this one!!!!!

SEGUNDA PARTE DE PALOMA SOLITARIA CON OTROS ACTORES, LO QUE LA PERJUDICA UN POCO POR COMPARACION CON LA PRIMERA PARTE

I had read reviews stating that Jon Voigt was not a good replacement for Tommy Lee Jones as Woodrow Call but I disagree and I found him perfectly believable. It was good also to find out what had happened to Newt. I found Oliver Reed to be a little over the top but all in all it was very satisfying and in no way diminished the original Lonesome Dove. I have really enjoyed all the Lonesome Dove DVDs with the possible exception of Streets of Laredo.

『ロンサム・ダブ』の続編です。前作の登場人物のうち、トミー・リー・ジョーンズが演じた人物がジョン・ボイトに、アンジェリカ・ヒューストンが演じた気丈な女性がバーバラ・ハーシーに替わっています。 主役の変更で違和感が拭えなかったのですがストーリーの妙と相変わらず魅力的な人物描写と風景の美しさに圧倒されること請け合いです。 『ロンサム・ダブ』同様、四話で合計六時間に渡る長尺ですがこの素晴らしさ、長さも日本語吹替や字幕がないことも気になりません。 そう言えばジョン・ボイトとリッキー・シュローダーの組み合わせって『チャンプ』と同じですね。
