I rarely review anything. Bought this for our 9 month old miniature schnauzer who yapps at joggers and cyclists, chasing after them. Other reviews have stated that the collar was too big for their particular breed. Maybes things have changed but you can pull it in to around 9-10 inch circumference I should think and cut off the excess.The instructions say to put it on quite tight, just be able to put one finger under it. I left it a bit looser than this.The noise is activated by sound when the dog barks, it's not particularly load but acts as a distraction when she barks. That's mostly been enough to stop her. Occasionally she's continued and the sound activates twice more and the last time the collar vibrates. This totally confuses her and I think its only got to that stage 3 times. Yes, there are rounded plastic prongs that make it vibrate but they really aren't sharp or painful at all.After 3 wears we had a dog who would yap once or twice but NEVER chased said cyclists or joggers. 3 weeks on she still wears the collar but it rarely activates as she's so good.I really can't recommend this highly enough walks were quite stressful not to mention embarrassing. For what it costs its got to be worth a try. She's very keen to wear it as well.

Binned after a few uses as it had no effect and kept slipping off

I was really impressed with this collar as it helped my dog so much and calmed her without being unkind or hurting her in anyway and I did a lot of research as I was very nervous about getting a bark collar. However, disappointingly it has just stopped working, making a weird clicking noise and despite changing the battery it's not working so now she has got back into the bad habit of barking again, she is a very vocal dog and doesn't bark aggressively but out of frustration, the collar really seemed to help her be more relaxed and listen and help her. I'm so upset it's stopped working when I haven't had it for that long.

This is the second collar we have purchased in the last three years. When our Miniature Schnauzer Minnie was 6 months old she barked so much we were banned from entering the Vets and had to wait outside. We paid out £500 for two different dog trainers, neither helped Minnie at all. In fact they caused more harm then good. Desperate, we saw this collar and bought one. Minnie was instantly transformed. She would hear the beep and stop barking instantly. Minnie is three and a half now and doesn't bark at all like she used to. She still wears the collar when we go on walks as she can get very over excited when she sees another doggy she yelps and squeals but it still does the job - she hears the beep and stops. It is the best aid, along with a whistle, that we have bought Minnie and at such a low cost. So if you are having barking issues I would thoroughly recommend one of these collars as they are magic - we can even go into the Vets now!

The collar was great value for money and really easy to use. I loved the option to change the colour of the bone clip on it. It worked great for a day or so until my dog got used to it and barked through the noise and buzzing. Works fine on short sharp bursts, probably more as part of a behaviour training routine rather than just a bark stopper.

Didn't get an awful lot of use. Thought battery was dead but new battery didn't work.As a concept it worked well for our dog.

I have 4 extremely noisy small dogs who bark at everything and dont know when to stop, even with constant training. I've tried everything but couldn't afford 4 of the Citronella collars so I decided to try these. Totally amazed! Easy to set up and adjust sensitivity levels. It's not harmful to your pet, it gives a high pitched noise followed by vibrate but my dogs never bark beyond the squeaks. As soon as they bark the noise starts and it distracts them so they forget about barki g. I take it off after tea until morning as I dont want them not to bark when playing. They are usually quiet after tea anyway. Four happy dogs and 2 happy humans, and next door dont need to worry about having to complain either. Plus all round!!

Our dog is an excellent family dog with lovely relationships with children and adults alike. No issues when we go out on walks and very sociable with other dogs.One issue she had was barking at animals on tv or when she went for a wee in the garden and therefore distracting herself and taking ages.We tried everything but started to become concerned that she's going to either jump straight into the tv with excitement and hurt herself Or, when she's outside, send the neighbours loopy!I researched dog collars and chose this one. I'm glad I did... the result was instant and unbelievable! As soon as she started barking at the tv, a little noise omitted from the collar. The collar has not gone passed the 1st vibriation, but usually the initial sound deters her action. In fact, she's corrected her behaviour almost immediately.At one point, I started to worry about her mental welfare but she's as happy as always... she now enjoys watching animal programmes!
