I ordered this in hopes that an AC fan with a potentiometer might be able to 'pull' air through the ductwork in the upper level of my house and even out the AC. It did pull some air but not enough to change the temperature even 1 degree from my limited testing.I then decided to put this on my Netgear 7800 cable mode/router and it works great for that. It has some sort of 'stand off' pieces that keep it slightly above the router and it cools it nicely. I can adjust the fan speed down to the lowest setting and the router is cool to the touch. Before this, it would get warm and on a sunny day, if the blinds were open, it would get hot. (the router has no built in fans)My internet connection has been noticeably more reliable. We do still have to reboot the router at times but much less frequently than we use to.

I was a bit surprised the fan and associated parts came the way they did but I realized it is to give more flexibility on how you can use it.The CPU is under my desk and gets pretty warm . I have cured the rest of the cooling problems in my office but under the desk is dead air space. This fan has cured the problem! It is powerful enough to move the warm air out after a minute or two but not strong enough to make you feel like you are sitting in a hurricane. I have it on high and it is providing a light, cool breeze. Not annoying at all. I haven't measured the db but it is quiet. You'll notice the breeze and won't hear the fan unless you stop to listen for it. (It is also a help to your CPU. It will thank you.)I guess I didn't pay attention and found the switch is near the fan. I changed my planned location and it still does a great job.

I've bought several products from the CoolerGuys over the last year for some of my hobbies. They provide high quality cooling products - fans, venting, brackets, etc. and the variety of products available is great. This was my first time buying from their Amazon site, and everything went great. Same high quality product with Amazon Prime level of delivery service.I bought this a/c variable speed fan to provide more airflow than I could get using a USB-powered fan. The fan housing is solid and uses standard mounting brackets. The cable connection is sturdy and the variable selector works as designed. Noise level is fine - I use this with a 3D printer so the printer itself makes far more noise than the fan. A great product and strongly recommended if you need an a/c fan for your hobby application.

I purchased two of these fans for cooling electrical components. One I use to cool a router and switch located in an enclosed space beneath my desk. I placed it about 8" away from the components and it blows enough air across them, not even at full speed, to cool them significantly. The second one I placed on top of my Denon AVR-X2000 because the top would get very warm to hot to the touch. I placed the fan on top of the vented top of the case to draw air out. The fan again worked great at cooling down the AVR to a VERY reasonable temperature. I had hoped the noise given off by the fans would have been a bit less than they are, but they are barely audible when there is background noise is present. If the house is totally quiet they can be heard running when in the same room. I am very pleased with the quality and operation of the fans. I don't regret choosing them and would recommend them for cooling your components and prolonging the life of them that continuous heat can otherwise harm.

Bought this to aid in cooling my A/V equipment. The fan came as described and shipped quickly. Overall the unit comes with everything you need to mount it or use as a stand- alone device. The fan and all equipment are made of metal and seem very sturdy. One thing that may bother some is the fact that the fan can be a bit loud at full speed. This doesn't bother me, and I still consider it to be on the quiet side, but the fan is by no means silent. The fan moves plenty of air to cool whatever you need. It really moves the air, much stronger than the silent case fans aimed at cooling A/V equipment and cabinets. You do have to be careful when testing the fan or working with it while it is running as it can damage anything that the blades contact, including your good ole fingers.There is a speed control included with the fan that works well, but seems cheaply made compared to the fan itself. I am not using it at this time, but would caution you that heavy use of the controller and on/ off switch may cause malfunction or breakage (which is the reason for the one star deduction).Buy with confidence from this seller. I would purchase again without hesitation.

Power cord doesn't fit on the terminals very well. I took it apart and hardwired it.Bolt's don't fit my unit. Can't put grill's on. Or mount the cheap angle brackets.Overall it's very cheaply made, quality control is terrible.
