“Ultraman – The Trials of Ultraman” collects that five-issue (2021) seriesI wrote the following about the first volume in this series –“I was surprised by just how entertaining it was – helped by excellent artwork.The artist has an European name, which doesn’t mean much in an American comic, but he has a European adventure-comic style, but coupled with an excellent American comic-book layout technique, and a hint of Gene Colan in many of his panels, make this its own book, and one I want to see more of.It is well written/scripted, the plot is quite reasonable, and it all comes together to make an excellent book.This is not a cheap tie-in to a franchised property; it is a well crafted book in its own right.”Well, all that is still true of this volume, and though the overall story reminds me a bit of a Gerry Anderson series, but a TV21 version with modern writing and art that is on a par with the original TV21’s top artists (and there can be no higher praise than that), this is an excellent comic-book, and I want more!
