Most of Europe is plentiful with history, monuments, landmarks, and works of art, as is Italy. In Venice I found an abundance of subject matter. There's also more to see than can be seen in one short visit. However, like a "kid in a candy store" I swallowed up all I could. Venice is a place that needs to be seen. It's almost impossible to describe it in words. An array of colors from structures reflect onto the water. Water can be still as ice, but can be just as choppy as the ocean. Additionally, it's not hard to get lost while walking the walkways along the canals which meander throughout and over, via bridges. I know this first hand. I was lost many times. While there, I purchased a set of watercolor paints and paper so I could capture the richness of those colors and their reflections; the abundance of differently made bridges; and the various boats and gondolas. Each unique. I'm very satisfied with this finished product. I have been given praise from others who have actually seen some of the sights shown within my gallery. Complementing me for duplicating with my artist abilities what they have mementos of only in memory or photos. Hopefully, someday I will re-visit Venice to create other pieces with other mediums.
