A little goes a long way
Best grease to use with DT Swiss hubs. Tube is small but will last for many, many years.

Expensive but what you’re supposed to use
I held off on this purchase for quite a while since this is so expensive but the feel is very different than other grease I have. It makes sense to bite the bullet and run the recommended grease in DT hubs

Most Expensive Grease You'll Ever Use
For around 20 bucks you get a tube of grease a little bigger than a tube of Blistex. It appears to be legitimate DT Swiss branded however. It is a reddish clay color and it is very non tacky for a grease which is what you want in a freehub lubricant. Use it sparingly for best results, too much and you can cause your ratcheting gears to stick in place which can lead to skipping and damage. There is enough in this tube to do at least 6 or more hubs if you aren't going crazy with it.If you really don't want to buy this grease for your freehub, I had good luck for a long time using a 50/50 mix of SRAM butter and Maxima Heavy Fork Oil blended together and spread thin over the mating surfaces of the gears and splines.

Works
Works well. Don't need much. Saves me from trying to figure out what else would work. Ez

Genuine DT-Swiss Grease
This is definitely the real thing which is great for riders that need to re-grease a lot and want to stick to factory grease. It is smaller in person than the picture portrays but the size is specified in the details.

Excellent lube and durability
Thousands of miles and 12 years on my original DT Swiss R1700 hub and this grease was still soft and the color was good. Used this when I just recently rebuilt the hub and cassette and have also used it on my brifters(brake/gear levers) and it is working very well.

Special DT Swiss grease
Not sure why this special grease is needed but the engineers who design DT hubs recommend it over general purpose grease so I bought it. Should last a lifetime as only a small amount is needed during a freewheel clean.

"They" say you have to have this grease...
Just used this on my first DT Swiss 350 rebuild. "They" say I have to have this stuff and given I have two bikes with the DTS 350 and I will be doing yearly maintenance on both, I decided to spend the extra $$ and do it right. When I do the hub service next year I'll examine the parts and update the review. The tube is small but the amount needed is about the size of a pea so this should last some time.
