The gold standard of Road Atlases
Every year, like clockwork, even in this digital age, I buy a Road Atlas - why? Because for road trips they simply cannot be beat for planning the trip and having "just in case". I've been to many parts of the country where GPS isn't right, signal is lost, or I want to find an alternate route -- the road atlas to the rescue!Randy McNally has always been my gold standard. The maps are chocked full of useful info -- where is the next roadside park for lunch? where is a scenic route I can take instead of the Interstate? -- and easy to carry and fold and pretty much use for an entire year before it's time to buy the next.Once you learn to use a road atlas, you'll never want to not have one -- they are as much a part of the American road trip as stopping at the big ball of twine!

People should know how to read maps.
I know most people use GPS, But there is nothing like a good old map.

Not all who travel are lost.
I've just gotten the atlas a couple days ago and quickly flipped through it. Based on some reviews I was somewhat expecting to be disappointed about the quality and the fact it's a bit difficult to even find them anymore. To be honest, I was shocked at just how nice I think it is. The vinyl cover is of nice quality, not thin and stiff or crinkly. I found the pages to be of nice texture and adequate thickness, the maps themselves appeared to be clear and easy to read and understand. And that was just quicky flipping through it. It's a thumbs up for me.

Super easy to see cities around your destination. Then search on the phone can begin
Very nice and very large and easy to read… I’m just not sure where to keep it to have quick access to it while driving… I’m going to be using it for trip planning… I needed something that would give every city around a particular destinations and this does the trick for me… I may not even need to have it in my car… I will use my phone after that… I just needed a point of reference to check out “things to do“ in particular cities

Printed Atlases a "must have" for me!
Purchasing updated, printed atlas maps every 2-3 years are always important to me as a reference tool, even though I mostly use the GPS on my i-Phone for travel in unfamiliar territory. I have one in my car and the other inside for quick reference. I enjoy looking at a full page to see the whole picture of a State. I hope others agree with me so they will be available each year. Many stores don't carry them anymore, therefore, I ordered mine through Amazon.

Great atlas, could be better
We have had a Rand McNally atlas for many years, and update the issues every few years. This last time we ordered the atlas with a vinyl cover. The atlas itself is great, however, I don't like the cover because it can't be folded in half with a velcro closure to keep it folded. With the atlas folded, it fit very conveniently beside the car seat. The new atlas cover does not allow the atlas to be folded securely. There is no velcro closure or any way to keep it folded. We find it hard to find a place in the car for it, where it is handy while traveling.

the standard- with added durability
GPS is great- google maps ...whatever. But sometimes you just cant get the whole scope of things like you do with a real map. And sometimes that navigation needs some supplementation. ( I also think that reading an actual map is a skill everyone should acquire.). I am also someone whose vehicle interior can be a little disheveled at times, especially when travelling and the stiff outer covering will keep this from getting crumpled, or spilled upon.and as the headline says- it is rand McNally- the standard, most reliable.

A gift for my traveling guests
My out-of-towners arrived after a very long day traveling and bumping into lots of construction with no help from their GPS which actually got them lost!🤦🏼♀️While they were staying for the week I ordered this atlas as a fun surprise for them and a safe trip home.Quality product; easy to read and great detail, value packed product filled with so much extra info! A delightful present which they found so helpful going back home to AR. Reasonably priced!

Wouldn't be without one.
A replacement for my 2017 smaller atlas. That was used for road trips in and across USA...as well as a reference book for reading american crime fiction where maps and city plans were often invaluable as a supplement to the text. The new larger scale is even better: eg Illinois has 2 full large pages, not the 1 small one as before. A marvellous clear and detailed road atlas.

A trusty map book
I have been using these road atlas’s since1997. They are accurate and easy to read and use. I buy a new one every couple of years to keep up to date.

Finding what i want to know.
The road atlas is easy to use when looking at multipul states. Better than having maps all over the place.

For planning only
Detail too small to use while on route. As I have a road trip soon, it's been great for planning our routes.

Kept because is 2022 edition
My wife wanted a new current Road Atlas, so we found this one and ordered. When I got it I was surprised bythe size. She wanted a standard book size 8x10, but, this one is a 11x15. This is much larger than we wanted, but, we kept it anyway because it is a 2022 edition. We have used it a few times and is very handy to keep around the house. Still looking for a 2022 8x10, but no luck yet. We do have this one, which is current, so that is nice.
