White Lines 2: Born

I am a huge Tracy Brown fan and I, like many others, was eagerly anticipating the follow up to White Lines 1.I can understand some of the mixed feedback for this. The ending is how you would end a chapter not a book and really leaves you hanging. Also White Lines 1 is such an unexpected classic the expectations for the sequel were high.However, for me, Tracy Brown continues her superb and unique writing ability to really draw you into the characters, they almost jump off the page. For me, it continues the theme of White Lines 1, where you nobody ultimately triumphs in the drug game, but it extrapolates that to illustrate that no-one has it all. Sunny should be so happy, but all the great things in her life aren't enough to keep her content. Ava has beaten the odds to become a successful lawyer but struggles to find someone to love her.What is also good is the way Tracy develops Sheldon's character. She really makes you see through his eyes: a young boy with no father, struggling with conveying his emotions, partly due to the effects of his mother taking drugs, but without justifying his often inexcusable behaviour. And in true Tracy Brown fashin, the book is full of unexpected twists.I really can't wait for Part 3

Loved White Lines so followed up with this and im not disappointed.

I like that the characters deletions from the first book and was happy to delv into Sunny's not so glam life. Again I was left wanting more when it ended. If you've read the first then this is an obvious sequel to get into. However, it can't beat "White Lines'" grittiness

Very good read. Enjoy Tracey browns work I had read the first white lines a couple of years ago and was happy to see that she had continued the story on to two more books.

Was an ok read...not brilliant. The storyline was not as gripping as the 1st book in the series and now it seems there will be a third. I would not have said the ending was cliffhanger enough for me to want to read a third book. And I also find it boring to have to read about what designer clothing people have on.
