Through a Season of Grief: 365 Devotions for Your Journey from Mourning to Joy

A good daily companion to the GriefShare program.
All of us at some time in our lives experience the loss of a loved one. GriefShare.org is a Christian based bereavement support group. The word Christian can be synonymous with judgemental hypocrites, but GriefShare keeps to a more Christ-like message of inclusion and openness. We all grieve differently, and can all learn from each other. This book has short inspirational thoughts for the day to encourage you to focus not on the larger picture, which in mourning can be overwhelming, but to focus on the smallest most immediate accomplishments. "Deal with what is in front of you right now and worry about the rest later when you get there" is the overall message.

This book is a huge help to start through the grieving process.
This book was gifted to me in January 2015 after my husband died in December 2014. I read it all the way through in January. I read it again in February and marked lots of days that helped me so much that I wanted to refer to them as needed. I also signed up for the e-mail so I get a message every day and they still help me now, the beginning of 2016. I have been so impressed with the book that I have gifted it once and intend to start keeping it stocked on my bookshelf to gift to others in the future. I have the paperback copy and really like it. The new paperbacks are so nice now that I really prefer them over the hardbacks.

I love the product itself but was SUPER disappointed that the cover is not what is shown here on AMAZON. The cover of the book I received is completely different. Why does this matter, well, it was a gift for a friend and this masculine cover is exactly what I was looking for. The cover I received is very feminine. =(

Spiritual as well as practical support.
This book of daily readings has been very helpful. Our son took his life in June. I have never felt anything so devastating and these daily devotions have been extremely supportive.

A year of healing.
My husband is a pastor and we have done grief support ministry. This book is the very best, it takes you through the first year of grief after a loss. We buy it for anyone who has had a close loss, such as spouse, parents, child, etc. or anyone who is grieving a loss. I would highly recommend this. We have beautiful testimonies from people who said this book helped them tremendously as they walked through grief

Every Grieving Person Needs This
Every grieving person should have this devotional and keep an extra to pass on. I lost my youngest son to suicide nearly 14 yrs ago and I try to keep an extra copy or two to give as gifts.

So far so good
I’ve had my share of grief - though I made it through those times without this book - it’s helpful for times when your friends or loved ones are grieving. Would be good to share with those who are grieving (if given at the proper time). Formatted in one page entries by multiple contributors touching on lots of different emotions and phases of grief.

Good for helping you deal with grief
This is a great book if you are experiencing the lost of a loved one, and need encouragement to help you deal with the emotions. There are short passages to read each day, and I think it goes an entire year. Written by several authors, you get different perspectives. There is a short prayer at the end of each passage. This is a good tool for a Christian or a non-Christian who needs guidance though the pain of grief. Well worth the money. I plan to lend it to friends who may need it.

Outstanding.
Absolutely outstanding book. I wish that I had read it a year ago. Very practical, very insightful. It is written entirely from a Christian perspective. Highly recommended for anyone working through grief over the loss of a loved one.Since I first stumbled on this book I've bought several more copies to give to other people going through grief over the loss of a loved one. It really is an outstanding resource.

Did not want this book but was billed for it.
I did not want this book and had it removed but the cost of it was added to my mastercard. The mastercard has a billing on it but my kindle does not have it on my list. I really would like to have a credit on my mastercard.
