The Wedding Crasher: A Novel

An amazing book!
I LOVED this book! It was the perfect romcom. We had spice, romance, humour and fake dating!!The start of the book and the introduction between the two MC’s is one of my all time favourites! It was so clever and unique. But it also really set the tone for the rest of the book and did an amazing job at introducing the characters.Dean was a brilliant MMC. He was quite uptight at the start but once he started opening up he became much more humble and he was just adorable. I don’t know how Solange didn’t just pounce on him all the time. You could tell from the start that Solange and Dean fit so well together. They brought the best out of eachother and I couldn’t imagine them not together. There was so much sexual tension between Dean and Solange. The innocent touches and flirting made me so hot and bothered. The spice was so dirty but it also felt really romantic aswell.I have no idea how Mia Sosa managed to slot in a scene at a sex party and make it work, but it happened. I would’ve liked the scene to be a bit longer because I think it would’ve added another dimension to the story while also pleasing all of us smut seekers. We also got to see loads of Max and Lina from book 1 (The Worst Best Man). I love it when we get to see previous characters and I feel like lots of other books tend to fall short on this. So a big tick for this for Mia Sosa.✦ Tropes: fake dating, one bed

Big turn off halfway
I was enjoying this book until the halfway point where they got tricked into going to a sex party then decided to stay and watch. A completely unnecessary scene which felt totally out of place and put me off reading the rest of the book.

Very funny, an enjoyable read
This book made me laugh out loud in places, but it also had a serious thread, with Josh and Poppy’s relationship.Mainly it’s a feel good, romantic, ridiculous (in a good way) story, with the kind of friendships we all like to have, with a wedding on a private island as it’s main theme.Lola is the wedding planner coping with the very wealthy and obnoxious father of the groom - who also happens to own the island, and she has her hands full with a bride who needs her hand holding, caterers bringing food to the island, the society photographer who has norovirus and may or may not make it for the actual wedding day and too many other things to mention. Will is the groom and Poppy is Lola’s friend, as is Will, from university days. Poppy is there to photograph puffins for her own assignment but gets roped in to do the pre wedding photographs in the days leading up to the actual event. It all gets very messy and is very, very funny.

Quick easy read
This was an okay read for me. The writing was good and the story moved along at a good pace. The characters and the chemistry between them however felt a bit flat. Solange and Dean were interesting enough but I was not as engaged as I hoped I would be with their love story. Overall a quick, easy read, with some funny moments.

Funny and sweet, loved it!
Hilarious, fun, sweet, romantic and so entertaining! I didn’t know what to expect from this book but I am very pleasantly surprised, they author is really good at setting the story and taking you through it and her writing style is flawless. The characters are complex with backgrounds and personalities that gives them depth making them very interesting and easy to relate to. The struggles are integrated into the story very well and don’t have a critical moment, these are more the drivers of the plot and it worked really well here. Honestly, this is a very good book worth the read, I will be checking out her other titles.
