Q: Are all bauerfiend braces sized the same?

Yes-they are sized the same. I found size 4 a bit too compressive for me but Bauerfiend has a size 4 comfort that fits great.

This brace is good for if you have torn your patellar tendon. It also keeps your patella from dislocating

For the Bauerfeind GenuTrain P3 Knee Brace you will need to bend the knee to a 30 degree angle and measure the circumference of your leg in two places (above and below the knee). For circumference 1 (Below Knee), start at the center of the knee cap and move down 6". Measure the circumference of your leg here. For circumference 2 (Above Knee), again start at the center of the knee cap and move up 6 ¾ ". Q: Will this brace work for cyclists?

This brace is sort of like a compression sock, I have skinny legs and ordered a small and it fits snug and tight and is very flexible. I walk about 5 miles a day while I'm at work doing different activities and it is a very good product. The brace helped my injury heal pretty quick I thought. It may slide down 1/2 " from time to time, but for the most part it stays put. I would say yes it's good for cyclists and pretty much any activity. It does not have an open cut out slit in the back of the knee, but I have not been irritated from this so I'm not sure if this area will create a binding effect while you peddle. I would not think so because the brace is flexible like spandex. I would wear it with my mt. bike on trails. Although this fits tight, I have never felt like my leg circulation was cut off.
