but when I re-purchased I noticed all the bad reviews so I also purchased the Ritz stick to ...
This is the 2nd time I've purchased this, but when I re-purchased I noticed all the bad reviews so I also purchased the Ritz stick to compare. They both showed the exact same measurement for both my feet and my 4 year olds when we compared. So it's just as accurate, just not as durable, but stores easier. I repurchased because my toddler through these down the stairs and it broke.

Affordable, accurate tool.
An accurate, easy, affordable way to measure your children's feet at home. As someone who orders all of their children's shoes online, taking them to the store to get measured is very inconvenient. This allows me to get an accurate measurement for the correct size, relatively easy and super cheap. The recommendation is to use the tool while your child is in a seated position, with their foot on the floor. You then place their foot on the tool, while wearing socks, and read the measurement. This method worked very well for my older child, as she was cooperative, and sat still long enough to get an accurate measurement. We had a small amount of difficulty with my younger child, because we could not get her to put her foot down on the tool, either in the seated position, or while standing. She just would not cooperate, and moved her foot too much to get an accurate reading. As such, we had to use it like we saw it done in the shoe store. This meant having her sit, holding the tool flat to her foot, and applying pressure. This was the only method that worked on the 1 year old. When using it this way, the only downfall is that it folds in half, presumably to make the item more portable. The fact that it folds in half can create an inaccurate measurement, as it begins to fold at the crease while you're placing it against your child's foot. You have to ensure that the child remains relatively still, and hold the tool flat against their foot with your palm to get an accurate reading. Definitely not the end of the world, but it would be a lot easier to get a good measurement if it did not fold in half.Overall, this is an excellent product. The recommended method worked perfectly on our older child. And even adapting the method slightly to accommodate our uncooperative 1 year old gave us a good measurement. If it weren't for the fact that the tool folds in half, it would have worked perfectly on both our younger and older child. But even so, it is the most accurate at-home measuring tool we have ever used, and would recommend it to anyone.

Cheaply made
I don't know how long this will last. It's overpriced and made of cheap plastic. The movable measure part does not stand up and it is difficult to tell if measurements a re accurate. Will be sending this back asap.

FINALLY I know my shoe size.
I am almost 38 and I finally know my shoe size. At shoe stores since I was a teenager, employees would measure my feet and tell me I was a size 6. I have never even been able to force my feet into a size 6 shoe. I know my feet are wide, but I was never able to force my feet into a 6 wide either. Now I know why. My shoe size is 6 EEE. That is not on the conversion chart, but 6 EE is on the chart and my foot was one measurement bigger than that, so it was easy to figure out. It seems both my children are either EE or EEE as well. I have already bought and received shoes in the correct size, so I know that the measuring device did its job. I even bought one 6.5 EEE because a 6 wasn't available, and it feels too long! I've been wearing sizes 7-8 my whole life (depending on width) because I couldn't fit my feet into smaller. It's annoying to have much fewer choices for cute shoes, but also great that when I do find cute shoes, they will actually fit and be comfortable. Because of this I will hopefully be able to invest in better and longer lasting shoes. I am very happy to have found this device.

Will order Shoes based on its measurements ... fingers crossed
Agree with the other reviewers who say this is a cheap, flimsy product. It saddens me to think that such a device is made overseas for a buck .... maybe ... but somehow makes its way to the USA where it sells for 15. I am going to grit my teeth and order a few pair of online shoes. If they fit, I guess it has met its mission. But it is probably one of the least satisfying purchases in terms of value that I have made in years. I keep staring at it thinking "I paid 15 bucks for THAT?'

Works well and good price for the convenience
Works well and good price for the convenience. I realize some reviews underscored the 'cheap' plastic and that it was not measuring well. My response to those reviews is that this design chose flexible plastic to allow for the measure to fold conveniently into a small space. More durable plastic would make this measure difficult to use. If you are looking for something compact, this is it otherwise I would direct you to the more expensive and larger measuring piece that stores use. This will serve you well if you're looking to ensure your little one's feet have not outgrown their size. The price reflects the convenience. Also it stays true to its measures. Shoe designs vary and don't hold the listed size so don't make the mistake of blaming this measure.

Nice product of performing family foot measurements!
Product arrived on-time and in good condition. Purchased it to measure my own feet, as I have had some issues with purchasing shoes on-line with proper fit. Product is easy to use. Will see how the next pair of shoes I order fit, based on the measurements I took based on this product! Nice product. Would recommend.

It works well and I am glad that I have one
It works well and I am glad that I have one, though it broke already. So firmer plastic or something different might make it last longer.
