I've had problems with miracle grow and bug infestations. Has anyone had a problem with bugs and this soil?

I have noticed that Miracle-Gro potting soil often has fungus gnats. Has anyone had the same problem with this potting soil?

Is there supposed to be white things all through out the soil?

I'd like to use this for planting tomato and herbs in containers. Do I need to add anything to it? or just use this soil? This is first time plantin
