Nature: Leave It to Beavers

We need beavers, even more than they need us!
I was stunned to watch this documentary the first time. Beavers have been such an important part of spreading streams out into little beaver lakes/reservoirs. The result is much better support of forests and meadows. There are a growing number of beavers, now, but a small fraction of when Europeans arrived. So much more benefit is possible. Beavers will significantly hold back deserts if we let them...Enjoy a well told tale!

A DVD For Every Age
I bought this DVD for my grandsons age 5 and eight. They loved it but I think the adults liked it just as much, if not more!

Informative, heartwarming documentary about some serious terra-formers.
This is a great and touching documentary that highlights the industriousness of thesecute little animals and how beneficial they are to the environment by causing waterto collect in ponds. The Americans came close to killing them all to make hats -- so,we can be thankful that fashions changed. The Americans (and others) almost killed all the whalesto light the world's lamps -- so, we can be thankful that commercial oil was found. Not to mention the buffalo. And Americans killed all the passenger pigeons -- every single one.So, enjoy this nice nature documentary about this species we allowed to live.

Great for your Beaver collection
Me and my husband love Beavers and we've watched several Beaver documentaries. This particular one is different than the others we've watched, with this one focusing on the conservation efforts to preserve Beavers, rather than the habits. If you're looking for more of the behaviors and facts of beavers I would suggest Rocky Mountain Beaver Pond done by National Geographic. If however you want something with more "what are we doing for the beavers" or you're like us and have watched every other beaver movie you can get your hands on, then you should get this documentary

The affect the beaver have on the environment, particularly water conservation.
It was unimaginable the role beavers play in the environment. I am thankful to know how positively their affect of being reintroduced into places resulted in such incredible results. This DVD will rate one of my all time favorites after Duckumentory. I envy and admire the people devoted to these projects, especially the hair dresser!
