The French Army of the Victory: from 1941 to 1945 (Officers and Soldiers of) Paperback – December 19, 2012

A nicely illustrated volume of French uniforms from the beginnings of the Free French Army to the ultimate victory . Good detail on the color plates,very helpful to both the historian and the figure modeler .

The book was in perfect condition and it's very informative in regards to French uniforms. There are a few typos in the book, probably because it was originally in French and then translated to English, but still a good tool for learning. And all of the illustrations to show the uniforms is a lot of help in understand the French uniforms of the time

If one was just starting out on the study of uniforms then this is a nice place to start. But it does have some problems in that there is very little information about each depiction. This is where the Ospreys Series have a huge advantage with the added plus of superior illustrations. That and Osprey usually has a good good historical overview of the subject being shown. I think that this series would do well in a High School level library.

Another splendid volume by Andre J which covers the topic extremely well. Some do not like the simple crisp 'computer generated' look, but I do because it shows really clearly the uniform detail needed to paint wargame's figures.

All arrived well packaged.Lots of good and useful information.

This was interesting for its subject matter, difficult to find info in UK. However the overall impression is that osprey need not worry, this book is almost childlike in its simplicity. So, compared to other admittedly larger formats from this publisher, I was a little disappointed.
