I use a gutter heater cable on the south side roof line but worry about it developing a short or crack as it's up high and difficult to access. Placing this between the outlet inside the attic and the cable heater gives a bit more peace of mind as I rarely go into the attic. The light in the cable shows at a glance that's it's working, so it only takes a look to check on it. I've had electronics that pop a GFCI but not a breaker in the box so it's one more layer of safety.

I like that it's short, doesn't get'n the way and has a lite innit(encase the GFCI pops), but B'n it's a (12 wire) wud've Expected it2B a 20 amp. It shud do tho. Guess they are rely'n on sum1 inexperienced to run 20 amps of tools on a 100' cord(probly a14 if I kno most homeowners) just Bkuz it has "Xtra" space, ya kno.

We plugged our aquarium light into this. We haven't attempted to try out the GFCI function, because we love our fish. Well most of them. When all the ones we love pass on and there's only that annoying little pink one that bites everyone else is left we might drop the light into the water and test the GFCI function and update this review for you all.

Bought his for 1/2 as much as the local chain hardware store was charging. Exactly what I wanted.
