My hummingbirds love this feeder - it is their favorite. I have several very fancy feeders, but I read that you can avoid bees by buying one that doesn't have the yellow inserts in the flowers. It is so true! You need the red to attract a hummingbird so this one is just great. I found this one and loved the perches too. I put it out and now they ONLY go to this one. I have to buy more. It's super easy to clean, assemble, and hang. Don't forget to use your own food (say no to artificial colors) - 1/4 sugar to 1 water (ex. 1 cup of boiled water and stir in 1/4 c. granulated sugar.) Stir until sugar is melted and then LET COOL!

I like the way this feeder goes together. I've had no leaks. I also like the yellow translucent bottom. I get tired of feeders being solid red. The translucent bottom lets me see if there is mold growing or if insects have invaded.However, my birds tried it and then seemed to give up on it. The food level doesn't come up quite high enough. That will be easy to fix. But with the large holes and no bee guards, it becomes contaminated with insects the first day. Bees aren't an issue yet but that is only a matter of time. The holes are rectangular so finding a bee guard that fits has been an illusive endeavor. If I can come up with a reasonable way to make a bee guard, I will put it back into use. I will not purchase another.

This feeder doesn’t hold the 12 ounces of nectar it advertises on the box. Im only keeping it because it’s not worth the hassle of returning it and searching for another glass feeder. Amazon has so many options of any product, most of them made outside of the USA, too many of which are not as advertised. This feeder is, unfortunately, one of those thousands of products.

There is no mote on the top to keep the ants out. I also felt the holes for the birds to feed from were a bit bigger than necessary.
