RSHTECH Aluminium M.2 NVMe SATA SSD Enclosure NVMe USB Adapter Supports USB 3.1 Gen 2 10Gbps, PCIe and SATA M-Key (B+M Key)

I bought this RSHTECH enclosure for one specific purpose. I was upgrading the SSD in my Lenovo system and needed something to connect the new SSD to my system while I cloned the old SSD onto the new one. Simple.This RSHTECH enclosure was perfect for the job. It has a quick-release button to open the enclosure and another quick-release clip to hold the SSD in place. It comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable and a USB-A to USB-C cable, so I had no issue with connecting it to my system. Everything I needed was in the box.The RSHTECH enclosure looks and feels high quality. The aluminium shell helps keep the drive cool as well as protect it from damage. I now use it to hold the old 256Gb SSD for files that I need to take to other locations, as well as some music and videos. It works well on my PC, laptop and iPad Pro through the USB-C cable. It is compatible with all physical sizes of SSD as the internal quick-release catch can be moved to different positions. It is compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 3.0. The specs claim that it is compatible with USB 3.1 and 3.2 gen 2, but I don't have the equipment to test that claim.Several of my clients were surprised at how good the quality is compared to the price and have bought the enclosure themselves. I would highly recommend this RSHTECH enclosure to anyone who needs to upgrade their SSD or needs an enclosure to hold a spare SSD. It is very easy to use, good quality and looks good too.

I was using this with nvme drives on my Mac mini. The speed was throttled die to the connection. I plugged the drive into the thunderbolt port of the Mac mini and speeds were a fraction of the reported speed. That’s not the fault of the enclosure…..it’s usb c and not thunderbolt but I was hoping for something a little faster.I returned it for a thunderbolt enclosure. This one will probably be fine with a slower drive where you don’t need vary fast speeds as usb c does have its limits.A very compact enclosure and very easy to install. Also seems very solid. Good product but just not for me.

Bought this one as it was black so it is easily recognizable from the silver one I got from a different supplier via Amazon. This one cam with two separate leads rather than the combi ones often supplied and these work far more efficiently (faster).Can't understand the other reviews of this item that say it is difficult to open: far from it - it opens really, really easily. Also the simple retaining clip works far more efficiently than the fiddly rubber bungs on other makes ad models.

I bought this enclosure to find a space for an SSD that I removed from my desktop pc.I'm very pleased with the purchase as the item does its job perfectly.The transmission is fast enough to let me load games on it and play from it directly. The design is nice and clean, I love the colour, and I love especially the fact that this is very efficient in dissipating the heat in prolonged gaming sessions. The cables supplied (one is USB-C to A, the other is USB-C to C) are fast and sturdy, they don't jiggle at all. The connection is very stable. Also, the disk inside stays very firm once lodged correctly in place and makes me feel very safe. Obviously is not waterproof.The X-shaped LED light is a nice add-on. the leatherette loop doesn't give me any plus or minus, it may be used for hanging the device or to hold the cable while not in use, but it's weird, I believe they could have done a better design job on this detail.

This is a very compact, smart and easy to use enclosure - very nicely packaged in a sturdy magnet-seal box.Press the button on the socket end of the case and the card cover slides off.The card is simply inserted into the connecting socket and then angled down to click into the plastic holder. I used a small screwdriver to ease the plastic clip away slightly, so as not to put any undue pressure on the card.The cover then slides back and clicks satisfyingly in place.Heat dissipation seems to be fine despite the lack of any heat transfer pad between the card and the casing.The 2 supplied cables work very well and it's great to have a separate cable for USB connection and USBC connection at the computer end, rather than a single cable with an awkward 3 to C adapter hanging off it.I bought this for my MacMini M1 (2020) and it works flawlessly with my Samsung 980 1TB card.I did try a Sabrent classic enclosure, but that is a poor performer compared to this much cheaper Rshtech enclosure. I also tried both enclosures with a WD Blue SN550 1TB card and got similar results - see the speed screenshots I have made when connected to the same thunderbolt port on the back of the MacMini M1.I haven't experienced any dropped connections or speed drop offs with this enclosure and it's a great way to extend the storage of the MacMini. I use my computer as a DAW largely, and this enclosure has shown no problems handling disc access for quite demanding audio tasks.Recommended!

Das Gehäuse ist aus Metall, hilft dabei die verbaute SSD zu kühlen und die Verarbeitung ist insgesamt gut. Ich habe ein Wärmeleitpad genutzt, um die Abwärme der SSD besser auf das Gehäuse zu übertragen. Der in anderen Rezensionen angesprochene Knopf zur Entriegelung wirkt nicht so stabil, erledigt aber bisher seinen Job. Wenn man vorsichtig damit umgeht und das Gehäuse nicht allzu oft öffnen muss kann man hier meiner Meinung ohne Bedenken zugreifen. Nutze das Gehäuse mit einer WD Blue 500 GB NVME und erreiche Lese-/Schreibgeschwindigkeiten von bis zu 450 MB/s . Diese Kombination ist besser und günstiger als jede vergleichbare USB Stick Alternative und daher absolut empfehlenswert.
