Ambi Bag - Artwork Portfolio Backpack

I got asked so many times where I got this bag, lasted me all through my bachelor’s degree and I still have it. I graduated in 2018 for context, and the thing has held up way better than the portfolios suggested by most art supply stores. No real damage after all these years just a bit worn. I can’t recommend this portfolio enough!

I purchased this for my daughter back in August of 2016, who is attending art school in Georgia. The bag is great for keeping her artwork dry and flat, which is very important in a city that rains as much as Savannah. She has been very satisfied with the quality of this bag, and I was going to order another, so she could segregate work from different classes, but they have not been available for some time now. I did contact the company that makes these, and they assured me that they would be available again, but I have not seen them in over a year. I think this is a great product, and would do well if sold in art store and aimed at the art student market. I just hope they find a way to get these back out to their public.

Update: Oct 2018I've had this case for over two years. It has held up well except the plastic brackets where the shoulder straps connect to the bag. The last one broke as I was hurrying to catch a train. Not cool. I just moved the clip to the fabric loop on the bag and kept moving.Sept. 2016A very good bag and very well made compared to others (A.B.) that are similar and more pricey that fall apart in a few days, I have had two of those and I was always trying to reinforce the carrying strap and handles. I only wish this case was slightly larger as it can not fit drawing pads/paper larger than 19" X 24". There are only two zippered pockets compared to other brands. I do like the built in board that keeps the shape of the bag so it does not bend over, great idea some manufacturers should adopt. All in all for the great price I have to make do. If they had a more versatile case I would buy it in a New York Minute. Well done just the same.

I really enjoy carrying this bag. I can put my "homemade" drawing broad inside (11x14 I believe) with any materials I may take along. It has 2 pockets, one on the inside (not very wide but long) and one on the outside (I use it for pencils, erasers, etc). It isn't waterproof, so treating it with a waterproof spray for fabric or upholstery, is advised if you take it everywhere, everyday. It has 3 ways it can be carried; one handle at the top, one on the side and then the backpack straps. Try not to put too much in it or it will be heavy, but it can hold just about anything except for larger/wider drawing boards but I think 11x14 is the largest.

This thing works great for schlepping all your stuff to an art class. Hands free and only one trip. The only thing I might change is the heavy support board for paper. I don't think it needs to be so heavy. There are materials that would keep your papers, etc flat that aren't as heavy. I will probably make this change myself. Since I'm over 60 I would rather have as little weight to carry as possible. Otherwise this is great.

As a printmaker it's perfect for carrying 18 x 24" pieces of linoleum along with my tools. Plenty of room, rugged construction and a rigid interior. When I bought it I thought that the backpack was a gimmick and that I was only going to use the shoulder strap. Man, I was wrong. It is so convenient to have both hands free and not worry about a bag falling or swinging in the way. By the way, this is the only review that,I believe, I have ever left on Amazon. So happy with this bag.

This bag has revolutionized the hassle that use to be carrying around my artwork. I use this when I bring my notebook and large single sheet projects to class. It has a wooden spine so the materials do not get bent and an inner and outer pocket both large enough to hold a decent amount of supplies. The interior is also big enough to fit several sketchbooks and my full 96 color pastel set. Great buy, easy to transport, the best portfolio case Iv had.

I have been using it for a few weeks and it is holding up well. It makes carrying pads and a minimum of supplies easy. It has just enough room for pads, t square, large ruler, and pencils. I like the storage for the carrying strap to keep it available if need be.
