Delicious Without Guilt
The best rice - never knew brown rice could taste so good. Has just a tinge of sweetness, nothing too drastic.

This rice is a great sticky rice. It is a true short grain rice.

Bugs
Opened it and immediately saw insects in the rice, weird, because it was vacuum sealed and the seal was not broken.

I only bought it because I can't find any sticky brown rice flour.
Oh I can find plenty of sticky white rice flour but not brown. I can grind the brown rice in my Blender but it's still a bit course. Not ideal for baking. I can re-grind it in my coffee grinder to get it considerably finer but still a little bit course. It's also a bit of work to keep cleaning the coffee grinder every time I want to grind some rice. Having said all that, it does cook up nicely and is great with Asian style stir fry.

Fantastic & more nutritious!!!
This is a one of kind find!!! Most American “white” rice is over polished removing both germ & bran leaving a nutrition deficit whereas traditionally in most Asian “white” rice, the germ remains intact while removing only the bran and they definitely know what they are doing after thousands of years. After all, the 2 extremes of American white rice and American brown rice both are just that—respectively too extreme for effective nutrition and absorption whereas the Haiga Mai style of rice contains the best of both worlds with the most bioavailability and nutrition especially vitimans B & E. Brown rice with the bran intact is too harsh on the stomach and high in oxalates despite it being considered “healthy” especially in the American natural food world...it’s just another fad until the science comes finally comes out proving the more injurious nature of the American brown rice form especially to children and older people. The Asian countries historically never used rice without the germ intact for good reason. Now if McCabe would offer this Haiga Mai style of rice in Basmati & Jasmine all would be right in the world!:)
