TENMA 72-6627 DC POWER STRIP

Having various mobile Ham Transceivers I use in the car and at home, this DC Power strip works perfectly at home. I have connected multiple units up without the need to constantly plug/unplug each device. Very happy with this purchase.

First thing out of the box, I noticed it was heavier than I expected it to be...A plus. Also, the power leads that connect to your power supply are made of heavy duty 8ga wire with wide copper connectors on the end. Nothing flimsy about them. Plenty long too. The amp meters work fine. Already knowing I have a specific radio setup that draws 10 amps, after hooking it up, the meter reads 10 amps. So that works. The meters will read zero until you key up your radio, or until the load is drawn..not just powered on. Unless of course you are drawing high amperage right away. The switches are solid. Very positive, purposeful clicks. Bright LED indicators for both the switched and unswitched are bright, ALMOST too bright. So far everything is working great. Glad I purchased this one over the more expensive competitor to be honest.

As a noob ham, I needed a power distribution center for my radio, SWR meter, power adapter for an HT and several other gadgets and this seemed like the better option over the mfr everyone seems to refer to as "Mighty Fine Junk."So I ordered one. Pricey, but not many products like it on the market. It arrived quickly, was well-packaged, looked like a solid enough unit.I hooked it up to an Astron RS-35M, my radio, SWR meter, and turned it on. Everything seemed fine for about five minutes, then I plugged an LA-144 linear amp into it for my HT. It worked well for another ten minutes then the switched output side quit. The unit has an ammeter on each side, both the 35A unswitched and the 15A switched side, and at no time did the switched circuit ammeter exceed 10 amps.I unhooked everything and opened the case to check the fuses (there may be room on the case to mount external/panel mount fuse holders as a future project - I think going to this effort to rewire the unit to have easy access to the fuses might be some karmic insurance that they'll never blow - this is the don't wash the car on the day of the picnic if you don't want it to rain theory of existence). Fuses were fine. Checked all the connections, looked for signs of anything that was burnt/shorted/disconnected. From its simplicity, I can't see how or why the output could have turned off.Weirdness.I hooked it back up, turned everything on and it's been working fine since reassembling it.Seller responded to my question about returning the unit, now awaiting response from manufacturer. No problem with SELLER, but product may be defective. I've been using it off and on for about a week and it's working fine so far and may work fine for years, decades to come. Or it could crap out the next time I use it.I'll let you know how it turns out.

Used it in my radio shack as a central power point out of my power supply. Only thing I wished it was 100 amp meter draw.but it workes well with radios thai that draw less amps

I was very impressed by the quality of this item. I connected it to a 13.8 volt 30 amp power supply that I use to power my hf amateur radio receivers. They draw about 23 amps while transmitting. I had no problems with either radio during transmit and the power strip worked without a hitch.
