Window on London
Just spent a couple of days in Spitalfields and the City, brilliant book to have with me. Paperback copy is more manageable than the hardback though, while walking.

Lovely book about London
I am a great admirer of Mr. Cruickshank and can recommend this book wholeheartedly. Beautifully produced, excellent illustrations and, of course, Mr Cruickshank is always an elegant writer. Bit large to take around London perhaps but as a Leeds dweller I shall read it happily curled up in front of the fire!

Excellent guide
Have only read a few bits but this book.is fascinating especially for areas I do not know so well. The book should have been printed on better quality paper as the photos and maps are disappointing.

Underwhelming
I’ve enjoyed previous works by the author and his radio and TV programmes but this is just a bit meh. I was expecting much more than a tourist gazetteer. All perfectly presented, illustrated and well-written but if you want to wander around a more ‘real’ London why not try ‘This other London’ by John Rogers..superb stuff

Excellent walks.
Much heavier than I thought it would be. Won’t be able to walk around London clutching it, but very interesting and well written.

Livre à la couverture abîmée
Pas de commentaire sur le contenu car livre juste reçu et non encore lu ... mais déception car livre acheté neuf reçu avec une couverture abîmée et des tâches sur la tranche.
