Frankel. Simply the best
An excellent read. The research, information and detail throughout this book is astonishing. The insight provided into Frankel's breeding, parentage, pedigree and his early days as a foal, prior to the extraordinary racehorse he is to become, provides an awareness of his life beyond most peoples' perception that he is simply an outstanding race horse. The huge burden and daily pressures of the many people involved in keeping such an equine athlete sound in body and mind, understanding what makes him tick, and nurturing him throughout his training career is intense and this book brings it home.Analysis and statistics of Frankel's racing career further highlight the like of which has never been seen before - nor likely will since.Thank you Simon for an intriguing and insightful, detailed glimpse into the life of the truly great racing icon that is Frankel.

A well written equine biography
I have been following the horses for sixty odd years, (good Lord my life seems to be on fast forward.). This was by some margin my favourite racehorse.A great racehorse trained by a great man. But I take minor issue with the title. The greatest of all time?. Comparisons over a sports entire era cannot be made. Was Muhammad Ali better than Jack Johnston, Pele better than Messi,Laver better than Djokovic, who knows they were their best in their time,so let’s celebrate that fact.

Very very good
I bought this for my Husband and he said this was a terrific book. So much information not only about Frankel. He really enjoyed it and I'm glad I bought it for him.

What a read
When I ordered the Kindle version, i wondered if I would be disappointed as, no doubt, the printed version contains photos? Not a bit of it. Fascinating book. It would have been easy to sit and read it in one go, but have rationed it so that I keep the enjoyment going a bit longer. For all horse lovers whether interested in racing or not. Plenty of fact, plenty of insights, plenty of emotional bits (horse lovers will know what I am talking abou). Have just watched 'The Trainer and the Racehorse' on Channel 4 catch-up again. for an extra bit of angst.Very enjoyable, thoroughly recommend.

Genius horse and the genius who trained him.
This is a superb book about a brilliant racehorse. But to understand the world of racing and the elements which coalesced into creating the career of the legendary Frankel, read Brough Scott’s equally excellent Henry Cecil, Trainer of Genius first. Both horse and man were complex, fascinating, characters and both books are worth five stars. If you love racing, they are essential, rewarding and enjoyable reading, albeit tinged with sadness.

Beautiful book
I bought this book for my brother-in-law who was a former jockey and still enjoys the industry. This book has an attractive cover and some coloured photos throughout. The story covers Frankel's extraordinary career throughout his winning of 14 races and the people involved in those wins.Book was securely packaged and arrived within the projected time-frame. Good communication re the shipping/arrival of my purchase.I would recommend this book and this company.
