Good for Bonitos, Mackerels, and more!
I recently bought this with the intent of using it for surf fishing. However, I haven't had the chance to do so yet. Instead, I've used this to fish off of jetties and rocks. The action is good but it is a bit on the lighter side, so distance casting can be a challenge using baitcasters. There are ways to modify this to increase the weight thus casting distance or you can use a spinning rod and reel for the same effect.Paint chips easily especially if targeting predatory fish that have small teeth. The treble hooks also tend to rub on the lure chipping the paint, too.So far, I've caught bonitos and mackerels. Can't wait to take this surf fishing and hopefully hook up a halibut!

Feeling Lucky?
Beautiful and realistic design. Great swimming action. My only genuine gripe is the light weight of the lure, which causes it to easily snag. This is especially so given that it has three hooks. Despite this minor drawback, it's a wonderfully productive lure to have in your arsenal if you are a West Coast surf angler.

Great lure just not so good
Caught lots of calicos and barracuda, but after catching 6 or 7 fish, the hooks start to break, I had to replace all the hooks after 3 hrs of fishing. Great lure just not so good hooks

Expensive but pays for itself with great catches!
This is a very expensive lure but it is worth it!! Many people here in Southern California use this lure but when I saw the price I figured I could get something similar from a cheaper brand. My fishing buddy got one of these and began crushing it in the surf and the bay. My "cheaper" and "similar" lures were not bringing me any success. I finally broke down and got the Lucky Craft Flash Minnow 110. I have never looked back. This thing feels like quality and catches fish. I have hooked up in the surf and in the bay with some great catches. So is it expensive? Yes. If I snagged it on an underwater rock would I jump in after it? Yup, because it is my favorite lure and I like catching fish.
