Glad I got it.
I originally bought the Samson to serve as a PA for a 1000 sq ft outdoor venue. Meditation, spoken word, dancers with music. Input from the artist's phone, plus my microphone. It worked well for that purpose. The three day event went well. (Solar power caused bad static. Not sure if it was the Yeti/Nomad's battery controller or ground loops. Unplugging the solar and charging the Samson battery overnights from the grid saved the show.)I just finished a different show where I ran sound for a full outdoor stage. I was not supplied with working stage monitors. (Pro tip, never let the person who books bands rent the PA, they may not realize that unpowered speakers need an amp.) And the Samson had to stand in as the sole on stage monitor. There was only one of it, but it made do.Caution. Durning the show, my phone spontaneously paired with the Samson announced that "It is 7 pm" to the band. If you use the bluetooth connection, its best to specifically un-pair with the Samson after you are done. (Artists' phones too.)All and all, I'm happy I bought this. Nice, versatile speaker. My biggest complaint is that the power supply has to be stored separately from the speaker. It can't be tucked into the handle or any other little cubby to keep them together. There isn't even a place to tie a bag onto the speaker.

Great sound for such a small speaker
Purchased this as a Christmas present to myself in Dec. 2015. I teach an aqua fitness class and needed to be able to play Tabata music to hear the queuing, and a mike for me to give students instructions. The indoor pool where I teach is very loud with various swim classes and high school students practicing their laps. So I needed something powerful. This is it!!! I love it!!! I don't use the microphone that came with it. Since this unit supports wireless mics, I decided to not pay the extra $50 for the XP106W since I had to purchase a wireless mic anyways as I needed a hands free mic (being an instructor who's moving around and jumping). I put the transmitter in one of those cell phone arm bands that I already owned. I connect it to my iPhone via bluetooth and play/control music via my iPhone. I recommend pushing the speech button if you're going to use the mic at all. I found that when I had it set to music, my words came out choppy with the mic. My words are much clearer when set to speech.

After three months, I can say this is a solid product exceeding all expectations
Waited tell I owned this speaker long enough to give it a real review. After three months now, I can say this is a solid product. I use it for hours with my PC, almost daily. Not a flat, studio reference grade sound but clear, with decent amount of bass. Lots of connections with the 4 channel mixer on the back of this unit. I have yet to run out of options for plugging in and even daisy chain out. The Bluetooth connectivity is smooth and seamless. Also purchased a second model (Expedition XP106w) to pair up with this one and use them as monitors when behind a larger DJ PA. I will typically engage the speech mode in this setup for a bit more volume and clarity (mostly for it's low end roll off.) Easily reaches 90db or greater. Never timed how long but I am sure it could run all day on a single charge. Only con, the Expedition makes an obnoxious audible pop when it runs out of juice. A startling surprise when listening in quieter situations. I think the LED on the back turns from green to red at some point but I am never looking at the back when in use.

Good speaker, but horrible battery.
Great little speaker, it does what it's supposed to do. Has a really good sound. But the battery life is definitely not as advertised. Playing at a moderate level the most I get is around 5 hours run time. And it takes 6-7 hours to recharge it.
