Little Master Conan Doyle Sherlock Holmes: A Sounds Primer

I love these books. They only have a word or two on each page but the pictures are delightful. We have been practicing making noises with Sherlock Holmes. It’s really fun making the word “Rustle” sound like leaves rustling or the word “Howl” sound like dogs howling. Our son is 2 and this is our go to bedtime book.Honestly, these are amazing baby gifts. Do you have a friend who loves Jane Austen? Sherlock Holmes? Ballet? Pick up one of these books.

Quality is very good, good, sturdy construction. I bought this for my 1 y.o. nephew and he really likes it.

A lovely concept, adapting classics for baby board books - I bought this for my tiny nephew and it definitely didn't disappoint. The words are, understandably, simple and far and few between but I was pleased they did actually relate to the story rather than being the same as any other baby book. The illustrations are beautiful and my nephew was delighted (although to be fair I don't think he actually gets the plot yet as he's only a few months old but he loved us reading the sounds out!).

I have bought this as a gift for a lot of friend's babies. It is always a hit. The Babylit books are a great idea and the sounds primer works really well. As always the design is fantastic. Highly recommended.

As an adult, this is not a fun book for me. However, my son absolutely adores it. It's a sounds primer, not a tale of Sherlock Holmes. But my son picks it up and laughs, smiles and coos as I read the words and make the sounds. Once I figured out that these have little to do with telling the story, and more to do with the primer they are labeled as, I was ok with them. So once again, not engaging for me as a reader, but for the small wobblers who need board books, this is a huge hit in our household! As someone else said, if you're looking for a story, check out the Mini Masters series. A Magical Day with Matisse is another of my son's favorites, and I like the stories and artwork!
