A small emergency radio
I purchased this radio six months ago and haven't used it in an emergency - so it's a little unfair to be forced to give it a star rating. I wanted to post here though because when I received it I immediately charged it up and placed it in my emergency closet. I just now took it out of the closet to check how well the battery held up after 6 months. I was a little disappointed to find the battery had lost fully half of it's charge in that time. I have not turned it on at all during the 6 months and it is stored in a dark place (no excessive heat or cold). Had there been an emergency I don't know how long it would have worked properly with only a half charge. Certainly there would not have been enough power left to charge my phone and use the radio for any meaningful time. At this rate I will need to recharge the internal battery every two to three months to ensure enough power for emergencies. Yes, I know I can crank it and/or use solar, but I consider those modes only useful for the smallest emergency "top-offs" of the battery. I just wanted to advise people of this issue so you won't put it away for a year or two only to turn it on during a real emergency and find the battery dead. Also, the radio reception for the local NOAA weather channel and other bands is acceptable for emergencies only, but the reception and sound are not good enough for regular use.

Keep informed, or keep the tunes going
Bought this as an emergency use radio. Have used it to listen to the radio while camping and used all the different lights. The radio reception is excellent, once you dial it in. The dial is a bit touchy, a little movement on the dial will shoot you past five stations if you're not careful. Other than that the sound is what you would expect from a radio a bit bigger than this one. Pretty clear, not too tinny sounding and it is pretty loud.

Grandma loves it!
I grabbed this for my grandma so she would have a radio and light during the hurricane season. Her last radio finally died and she felt really disconnected during the last hurricane that passed. When she got it, I went over how to use it with her for about a half hour (early stages of dementia but still pretty high functioning). She LOVES IT! She hasn't even had to call me to ask how to work anything on it. Thank God for something that's elderly friendly but still super functional. While the radio might not have the absolute best speakers, it is clear enough that she can enjoy her music and hear her news. The lights aren't hard for her to operate and she "charges it" all the time because she thinks the solar thing is so cool. You gave an old lady a fabulous toy! I'm grateful!

A decent emergency radio.
This is a good little emergency radio. Build quality appears to be solid. FM reception is ok, WX (Weather Band) reception is superb. I like the WX Alarm feature... you can receive urgent weather alerts without having to listen to it the entire time. The audio quality is... good enough. You certainly aren't rocking the block party with this, but for a quiet campsite it'll do just fine. I'd say it sounds like a decent smartphone speaker. The built-in flashlight is fairly bright for the size, but I think the "lantern" type light is more useful, as you can choose the brightness and color temperature. A warmer (yellower) light attracts less bugs. I haven't had a chance to test solar charging. Given the panel size, I suspect it's slow but serviceable. Same with the generator crank. You probably won't use these as primary charging methods, but they're welcome options in an emergency radio/light. The USB-C charging port is appreciated, and there's even a USB-out to charge other devices. You can also use AAA batteries to power the radio/lights (but not other devices). Again, options are good. The SOS feature is loud enough to get some attention.Overall, this is a nice little radio that will live in my small camper. I like traveling to places that have no cellular reception, and a WX-band radio will provide good peace of mind when the storm clouds roll in (and maybe some entertainment when the skies clear up).

Cool Little Gadget with Terrible Sound
UPDATE!Shortly after writing this review, this unit totally failed. I've attempted to recharge it using the plug-in, solar and the hand crank which all failed. Now, with the dead, unchargeable battery, the unit is totally useless. Low quality junk.Pros: This really is a versatile little "radio". Not only is it an AM/FM and weather alert radio, but a flashlight, a nightlight and a 5K mAh battery pack that can be recharged with the USB charging cord, the hand-crank charger or the flip-up solar panel. The unit can then be used as a portable power source to charge other devices. It was able to charge my phone twice from 50%, so probably just one full charge from 0%. It's small, as well. It fits easily in my fishing pack.Cons: The built-in speaker is terrible. Not really listenable unless you're very close. The sound quality is good through stereo headphones, however. There is also a built-in panic alarm with a slider switch on the front panel that is quite obnoxious. I've had to tape it over because it gets inadvertently activated when puting into or taking it out of my pack. It also lacks Bluetooth.

Emergency radio
My other radio wasn’t solar capable so I got this one for emergency purposes. It’s there if and when I need it.

OK LITTLE RADIO FOR BACKPACKING...SOME ISSUES!
Not a bad little unit...the sound is what you would expect from a small radio, tuning is workable and frequency markings are resonably readable....as is the case with many of these type of radios, you'll need to come up with a way to keep it from turning itself on while it moves around in your pack (I use a piece of duct tape). Built in battery has a good amout of "play time", but with my unit, no matter how many new batteries I try, the unit will not work in the AAA mode, so I don't have a back-up when charge is drained....and yes, I know about the switch on front for battery selection, and have tested the batteries I installed (yes...correctly!). The solar charging is not a viable option given the time required, and at night, is of no use....cranking is ok for short periods to check weather reports, but not for "leisurely listening".This unit does receive a clear WB signal in the areas where I have used it, which is my primary use for this device.
