One of my favorites of the year!
A Kiss for a Kiss is the fourth book in the All In series and it was so worth the wait! We met Jake and Hanna in A Secret for a Secret, but now it's time for us to learn their story.Jake is the GM of the Seattle hockey team and Queenie's Dad and Hanna is Ryan's Mom even though he was raised as her brother. The two are working together to help plan Queenie and Ryan's wedding and due to all the time they are spending together, it's nearly impossible to deny the sparks that are flying between them. Given the family dynamics though, do they really want to cross that line?It was pretty futitle for the two of them to try to deny the attraction between them and even though they act on it, they decide to keep things just between them. Once the wedding takes place, Hanna heads back to Tennessee, where she lives, and tells Jake they need to be over. Well, that is until she finds out she's pregnant! With both of them being in their mid-forties, Jake and Hanna are forced to focus not only on the high-risk pregnancy Hanna is facing, but also on what this is going to do to the already tenuious family dynamics.I loved this story and how it unfolded! I loved the fact it was about an older couple, which gave it a much more mature feel and while the family situation isn't typical, I liked how they manuevered the difficulties and made sure that everyone's feelings were taken into account. It was a refreshing book to read and it is one of my favorites I've read so far this year! Highly recommend!

Jake and Hanna
KU*3.75 starsThis book features Jake (Queenie’s dad) and Hanna (Ryan’s momster = mom/sister).I really wanted to like this book because ever since Hanna and Jake met they had a connection. However, this book doesn’t really follow the love between these two instead it focuses on the family dynamic and oddity of their relationship. I honestly didn’t feel the love between them, you could see the lust and friendship then with everything that happened it seemed like they eventually fall into love, I guess. To be honest, I was kind of shocked about Hanna’s naivety when it comes to unprotected sex whether premenopausal or not. I guess to me the book felt like damage control and understanding the non traditional family dynamic, essentially making Queenie and Ryan (wife and husband) step siblings who now share a half sibling; which yeah felt off, but seemed to work. I just did not see or feel the love, I felt the friendship and support for each other during a very scary yet beautiful time in their lives, but no romance.I did love seeing Ryan and Hanna having a full conversation about their relationship as brother/sister/mom/son. I think my favorite parts of the book were between the parents and children: Queenie with Jake and Ryan with Hanna. It was nice read but I wouldn’t call it a romance, but more like family novel.

3.5 Stars
So I liked this, but it was short. Like a little too short for my liking. I felt like the pacing was off, rushed almost. And I needed it to be 100 pages longer. I loved Jake and Hanna but they seemed rushed. I needed more build up, and I felt like we missed a bunch. The reason this is getting atleast 3.5 is because this was so sweet and it was so nice seeing old characters pop up. I especially loved seeing Alex and Violet as always and the hints of Kody and Lavender (aka Little Lies) made me melt.I wish we had more. I wish we had more of Hanna and Jake together and even more of her pregnancy. I will say I still absoltely hated Hanna’s mom. She was just...not it. This was cute and solid!

Life is all about second chances
I always love book by Helena Hunting but this one has moved right to the top of my list of favorites. One of Helena's best qualities as an author is her ability to tell different stories rather than just recycling the same trope with different packaging - and to nail it every time.In A Kiss for A Kiss we leave the world of physically perfect 20 somethings and move to a story about people who have loved and struggled and survived some pretty horrible situations and are getting another chance at life.We first met Hannah and Jake when there kids burned up the pages of A Secret for a Secret and it was pretty obvious then that these two would have a story to be told - I am so glad the characters spoke loud enough for Ms Hunting to share this story with us!There is obviously a lot of baggage for our two lovers to unpack - not the least is telling their kids they are involved as well as dealing with issues from their past relationships, geography and what to do when life throws you a huge curveball AGAIN!!!!!You do not want to miss this story

Another beautiful Helena story.
As with always with a Helena Hunting read this book drew me right in and didn't let me out again until I was finished again. The only complaint I could have would be its rather short... but no matter how long her stories are I will always be gutted when they finish so maybe that's just me lolThis story is all about Jake (Queenies dad) and Hanna (Kingstons momster) and what happens when they end up with an unexpected shock after spending time together to plans a wedding. As usual this is told in a dual POV so you manage to feel all the emotions from all sides of their journey... and we couldn't forget the usual banter that's usually involved with Violet and crew are around hahaLove being in any of Helenas hockey worlds and having catch ups with the gang!Would always recommend but only after reading the previous books for this series.

Sealed with a kiss
Jake & Hanna’s life / relationship is complicated. Hanna is ‘Momster’ to Jake’s son-in-law Ryan Kingston. Walking his daughter down the aisle meant the end of their secret, passion fuelled relationship. Just too complicated when your kids are married, no matter how much chemistry you have. But the secret doesn’t stay secret when Hanna finds out she is pregnant with Jakes’ baby when she returns to Seattle 3 months after the wedding for Queenie’s birthday celebrations.Emotions are raised with a high-risk pregnancy and unusual relationship dynamics. This could have been fraught with angst, but experience and age bring reason and thoughtfulness, the ability to act with consideration for others that comes with age & a life lived & experienced. I love the lack of miscommunication in this story, Jake & Hanna TALKED to each other. This isn’t all seriousness as it could have been, there are a lot of laughs & silliness. Both Jake & Hanna have had babies young the experience of raising them couldn’t be much different. Jake raised Queenie alone. Hanna raised Ryan as his sister. Both gave up so much for their first baby, now it’s time to do it the way they want.Helena deals sensitively with the subject of high-risk pregnancy but without losing any of her usual style.

Maturity and young children does work.
Such a totally delightful story about a complex dynamics of a family group. Jake father to Queenie, and father of n law to Ryan. Hanna teenager mother to now 30 +Ryan, who thinks she is his sister, mother in law /sister in law to Queenie. Jake and Hannah’s relationship flourishes from friends to something much more. Until. The story is full of emotion, trust issues and possible white lies. The characters are so beautifully believable, and described so clearly the reader almost feels you can touch them. There is a glorious HEA, humour and sarcastic quips flow through the storyline, and this is a stand alone. The romance aspect is tender and sweet and there are many sneaky episodes. An easy well flowing read that leaves you totally sated and content. Well worth 5 stars from this exceptional author.

A promise!
Jake is happy that his daughter, Queenie is in love and marrying Ryan. What he doesn't expect is the chemistry he has with Hanna, Ryan's older sister who is actually his mum. Helping with the wedding planning they grow closer together and their relationship takes a turn. What happens when they find out Hanna is pregnant? Can they find a way to make this work? Will their relationship with their children change? Can they create the family they need? This was such a fantastic read and I just couldn't put it down. Helena gave a book where the main characters are in their forties and supposedly settled, showing that HEA are still there for everyone!

A strange family dynamic but good fun
An enjoyable read. Lots of fun, sexy scenes and Ice Hockey. A strange family dynamic with this story but it works. This “All in” story is a spin off from the Pucked Series. Hanna and Jake are helping to arrange the wedding of Ryan “King” Kingston and Jakes daughter Queenie Masterson. If you’ve read previous stories in the series you should have an idea who Hanna is. Don’t want to give any spoilers. But this all leads to one very tangled family dynamic. A good, fun sexy story with some drama thrown in.
