Going Down Easy (Billionaire Bad Boys) Paperback – July 19, 2016

Kaden and Lexie are two fiesty, likeable characters. When Kaden is going through some tough times, Lexie is right there supporting him, even with all of her family baggage that she has to mull through. Together, they ignite fireworks! Ms. Phillips penned a gritty tale that just resonated with me. I liked these two characters together and their support for each other was heartfelt. Every page enticed me onto the next, with the story getting better and better.

Even though it’s called Going Down Easy there was nothing easy for Kade and Lexie. They both fought their own personal demons and almost let those win. This is a cute office romance story with a focus on mental health (Bipolar, anxiety, OCD).

Thanks to a trusted business associate, he hires his daughter Lexi and is surprised when she definitely holds her own with him and has no problem putting up with his slightly hostile manner in the office. She simply smiles, and lets it roll off her back. He is surprised by her professionalism and efficiency as is he by her beauty and class, but she does not seem to be falling under his “magnetic” spell as most women and he doesn’t know whether to be relieved or insulted.Lexi, although attracted to her new boss, is completely distracted with the full time pressure of taking care of her bi-polar sister Kendall. Although stable sometimes, every day is a gamble as to what state of mind she’ll find her sister in. If she’s relapsing than Lexi’s life will have to adapt to fit Kendall needs. Lexi’s needs always come last.Lexi adjusts to her new job and for the most part Kendal seems to be doing OK, and her boss is laying on the charm hot and heavy. It doesn’t take Lexi long to start falling for Kaden, he’s sexy, powerful, and in hot pursuit of her. Meanwhile, Kaden’s business is going through a hard patch, old ghost are trying to raise their heads again and destroy him in the process. An old partner, kicked out of the founding group of their business years ago is trying to blackmail his way back in to a portion of the companies worth by accusing Kaden of attempted rape. Although the charges are bogus, the accusation alone could have catastrophic effects on the company.Meanwhile, Lexis sister Kendall is dating a mysterious guy she knows nothing about, could he turn out to be interested in her for reasons of corporate espionage? Will Kendall survive the guilt of being used like that? What could this mystery man hope to gain by leading Kendal, a mentally ill woman on?Lexi and Kaden get serious about each other, the sex is intense, the emotions they share between them even more so… their both well on their way to falling in love and they know it. Kaden is devastated, instead of just calling it quits, his friend talk him into talking to her first, so he does… surprise, surprise… the man his enemy was kissing was not Lexi, but her identical twin Kendal. He never knew her sister was her twin and she never knew that the man her sister was dating was Kaden’s enemy! Well, you’ll have to read the rest of the book to figure out the ending… but all I have to say is that it’s a nail biter for sure!I really enjoyed this book. It’s actually one of my favorites in the last 50 books or so that I’ve read. I wasn’t able to predict the plot ahead of time, I kept getting surprises along the way and I’m like… “Oh no he didn’t” or “’You go girl” or my favorite “You’re not going to just sit there and take that are youOverall recommendation (scale 1-5) 55Heat Index (scale 1-10) 8 (Very hot, but nothing extremely out of the realm of normal sex, no anal, mild bondage, no whips, no but plugs, no nipple clamps, no hand cuffs etc… straight forward sex… but very hot and well scripted!

I’ve always loved Carly Phillips’ books because she always writes amazing contemporary romance stories. Going Down Easy is the first book in Carly Phillips Billionaire Bad Boy series, and it was a quick book to read.One of the many reasons why I love Carly Phillips books is due to the characters she always writes into her stories. Each character has traits that you either love or hate. In this case, though, I did enjoy Kaden (male character) and Lexie (female character) in the story. Kaden is the problematic guy in the story, where he can’t seem to keep an administrative assistant. He loves being in control and getting his way. In comes Lexie who is his admin assistant and wants to do a great job. She knows how to handle Kaden right away since she has been taking care of her sister who has bipolar disorder.I enjoyed reading Going Down Easy because of Lexie’s character mostly. Here she was taking care of everyone but herself. She finally decided to do something for herself, and she ends up meeting Kaden who can be difficult. She knows how to handle him though, and I always love when the female characters can take control of the situations around them. Kaden is not as difficult as everyone assumes. He may have alpha-life qualities, but he’s not the typical alpha male that I read quite a bit in PNR stories.Even though this book didn’t get a high rating, I still enjoyed reading it. I didn’t love it. I think the main reason why is due to the fact I’ve been reading quite a bit of Office Romance stories right now, and I may be getting burnt out from them. I did like the fact that Carly brings awareness to mental health in the story. There’s Lexie’s sister who has bipolar disorder and how it not only impacts the person that has the disease but the family members too. Lexi need to keep this job longer than a few days or weeks she was to be a P.A. to a billionaire who with his two best friends ran a computer company. She decided to go in strong as she heard that he sacked more of his assistant in the first few days. Lexi had family problems with her twin sister who she was carer to . Her boss had problems she could tell . Complications in work and a close relationship with her boss crossing over to her sister . Love trust was a huge issue to both of them things came to ahead when her sister stole from kade and he received pictures of who he thought was Lexi and his ex friend Julian who was out to destroy kade. Kade sacked Lexi calling her a a cheat and their. On top of this her sister had a melt down she tried to make him know the truth it was her twin not her life returned to her caring for her sister awaiting for her to go into hospital again .kade decided to go public with his past and alleged rape of his the ex . But Lexi took the problems of their past bring them together happiness wins. Love prevails brilliant read very emotional storyline.

Lexie has the responsibility of looking after her twin sister Kendall for the majority of their lives together. Her mother also suffers from severe depression so she is left to shoulder the responsibility of caring for Kendall. It says a lot about Lexie when she does this regardless of the fact that she should be out there living her life. She always puts her family first.She starts a new job as Kaden Barnes’s PA. They don’t deny their attraction to each other. In fact, they do acknowledge it and that is really refreshing to read. Usually they tend to avoid the issue until the inevitable happens which is that they end up in bed together. It doesn’t change the fact that Kaden is annoying and has a list of demands a mile long but he can’t deny that Lexie makes him feel more than he wants to.This book also touches upon Kaden’s bipolar issues. Carly doesn’t shy away from the true issues of a real life situation which is why this book is so relatable and real. I love that they showed Kaden struggle with everything. He doesn’t like things being out of his control but he slowly gets that Lexie means more to him than he actually realised.I can’t stress how much I just fell for these two. They stole my heart and flaws and all; they suit each other perfectly. It was a short book and I would have loved more but I can’t complain because the story was just pure genius.5 stars!

Kaden is a billionaire and Lexi is his P.A... but the attraction runs deeper than that.First of all I just want to say this book is HOT! If you like sexy scenes this will not disappoint you.Secondly I want to say how impressed that this story featured taboo subjects such as mental health and glade rape accusations - always good to raise awareness for both.I have never read a book by this author before,& enjoyed her style of writing and found it effortless and descriptive- I really was able to feel the connection between the two main characters. I am looking forward to reading more from Carly Phillips in the future.

A great romantic story with three issues, one of mental health, another of date râpé accusations and or OCD. But love and under standing can mâke life tolérable with these issues spécialité if you Work hard enough and makes everyone happy. The determination on Lexi's part not to loose the love.of.her life and to stand by her lover come what may and Kade for fighting off tyranny from heartless so called.friends who lie, cheat and try to extort for their own ends. But love and honesty always comes out the victor. A really great read.

I enjoyed every aspect of this book from the complicated health issues dealt with, the complexity of the characters personalities and a multi-dimensional story that was creative, interesting, captivating and rewarding. With a HEA that left me with a smile on my face, you could want for nothing more from a reading experience - and the sex is hot too!
