The Umami Kick You're Looking For
While checking out the Burma Love restaurant in San Francisco, I saw that they started to sell their own brand of anchovy/fish sauce. As someone who loves the umami flavor, but doesn't like the super fishy taste that some fish sauces can have, I was curious to see how fishy the Burma Love sauce was going to be. Normally I throw in a pinch or two of MSG into my dishes, but it is way more convenient to use liquid umami, and way more natural to use fish/anchovy sauce. To my surprise, the Burma Love sauce was less fishy than the other ones that my family would use! This anchovy sauce is my favorite one now! It used to be a drag driving into the city just to get this sauce, so I'm glad that it is available on Amazon now. I knocked the overall rating down one star because the lid cracked on one of the bottles, but I mostly blame Amazon fulfillment because each bottle was super bubble wrapped by the Burma Love team (no way Amazon would wrap these bottles in the 4-6 layers of bubble wrap it came in).

Awesome Flavor from my Favorite Burmese Brand!
I’ve been going to the Burma Superstar family of restaurants for years and I’m so glad they came out with some of their flavors I can use at home, when I can’t quite make it out to their awesome restaurants. If you’re familiar with fish sauce you’ll be right at home using this - if you’ve never tried it before you should use it about the same as Worcestershire Sauce but it’s got a definite Asian umami kick. A little goes a long way but I use this stuff so much I think this bottle will be done pretty quickly!I use the fish sauce in pretty much everything Asian I make and in a bunch of American staples too-I use it in Poke sauce/dressing - mixing fish sauce, hot chili oil, mayonnaise, sriracha and a little rice wine vinegar with cubed ahi tuna and other veggies.I also use fish sauce in my ultra-secret steak sauce that is to die for! Mix reduced balsamic vinegar, fish sauce and chipotle Tabasco sauce with some tomato paste and a little splash of water to make the consistency right. Slather that on steak or pork chops and they are to die for!TL;DR - excellent small business makes and awesome product to bring an umami punch to your dishes. I got two in case they sell out!

Very good fish sauce!
This is a very good fish sauce. Tastes a lot like Son Premium. In fact, it would not surprise me if this were Son Premium packaged for Burma Love in a smaller bottle. Very, very good. Not as much umami punch as Suchi Premium or Red Boat 50N (only available on their website), but wonderfully light. Goes on and into just about anything that can use some salt. You can’t go wrong with this. And if you don’t end up liking it, you probably just don’t like 1st press no sugar added fish sauce. 😀

The Dom Perignon of Fish Sauce
I have tried every fish sauce under the sun and usually Red Boat is my go-to for raw applications (salads, dipping sauces). Both Red Boat and Burma Love’s sauces are pure, made with only two ingredients: anchovies and salt.Tasting them side by side, the winner is definitely Burma Love. Red Boat has a straight ahead saltiness but Burma Love’s fish sauce is much more complexly flavored with notes of anchovy unfurling in an umami flavor bomb in your mouth. I was tempted to sip it just right out of the bottle. The flavor is so delectable I’ll be adding it to other recipes. A spoonful in my red sauce to add depth and umami. A dash here or there any time I use anchovies (check out Jacques Pepin’s anchovy spaghetti recipe on YT).My coworker from Vietnam once told me his grandmother used to make fish sauce and whenever he visited his homeland, he could enjoy this delectable ambrosia that was so pure and flavorful—and nothing like the processed, sugar-laden fish sauce in America. I was so jealous of him, but now with Burma Love I can have that incomparable taste of freshness and authenticity at home.

Good buy
This fish sauce definitely has a strong anchovy flavor that I liked using in soups and seasoning. Lots of umami flavor, so a little goes a long way. Bottle is a little small, but if you don't use fish sauce often in your regular cooking, it may last you awhile.

Great subtle fish sauce with great umami!
Picked up a bottle because I like the food at Burma Love. I cook a lot with fish sauce so I was curious about this. Great umami without being overly salty or too strong. Great and easy to cook with.

Clean Umami flavored fish sauce!
I use fish sauce in almost everything I cook, even non Asian food like tomato sauce, etc. This fish sauce had a very clean taste and was not "murky". You could tell that good fish was used and the fermented process was handled well. I just wish they sold in a bigger size!

Best Fish Sauce!
A lot of our cultural dishes adapted to squid or fish sauce, but they’re always so strong and salty so I find alternatives to halt the amount of sauces needed for a dish. After some exploring, I’ve come across this Burma sauce and it is perfect! The ingredients are natural and I don’t have to alter my sauces. It’s not too strong and it’s not too salty! Additionally, it doesn’t have a horrible smell like others! I love it and will be purchasing more!
