Install hanging brackets on window.Vinyl tears easily but you must measure width of your window minus 1/2inch. tear slowly and steady on the pin side, not the flat side. To adjust to the correct width, I pryed the white plastic from the cardboard rod on pin side. I cut the cardboard rod to correct length with a kitchen knife and popped the white plastic back in cardboard rod with a rubber mallet ...it took me 3 cuts until I got the rod to the correct length but I got it without taking too much...and that's it.Pretty happy with the room darkening blinds...not light filtering as shown above on the right side two pictures above. See the difference?

I have a pool house with many many large windows on the opposite wall from the TV. During the day it is hard to watch. By putting up 3 of these blinds in a row I was able to block the light to watch TV and still be able to roll them up when not needed to enjoy the room to it's fullest extent. The blinds are easy to install and look great!

The shade was $$$. We ordered 2 that we needed for a theater production. The smaller one was fine. The larger one's box was damaged. But we were in a bind for time as opening night is steam rolling us, so we try to install the larger one and the shade was bent (seemingly in shipping), but we didn't realize it until it was already installed. We tried to fix it by going so far as to replace the inner rod with a wooden one and that didn't work, so we QUICKLY ordered another one and it arrived the morning of opening night (thanks to Amazon Prime Shipping). The second one worked, but not as great as we hoped. It didn't have the capability to snap up upon a quick pull (dramatic impact). It did go up and I think it only failed on one show. I would not buy one again though. I was going to return the first one, but since we had tried to fix it, I felt it shouldn't be returned.

It fit well and seems to be good quality

This is NOT room darkening. I installed it yesterday. This morning, there's as much light coming through it at the upper half of the window as is coming through the cheap, unlined cafe curtain at the bottom. It definitely is translucent, not opaque as advertised. Bah humbug.

I bought this shade to replace the exact one i've had for many years. The hardware was the same and all I had to do was cut the shade down 1-3/4" to fit my window. It was very easy, however they don't tell you which side to cut., and unfortunately I cut the wrong side. In doing so it interfered with the mechanism which allows the shade to work and there was no way to .fix it. I ordered another shade exactly like it and next time it will be perfect. I wish the manufacturer would include the instructions.

I was not a fan of the window shades themselves. They were not completely blackout allowing for a decent amount of light to shine through. The shades themselves were low quality and we ripped one of them upon installation. We ended up returning the product because they were so cheap and the company was very easy to work with and allowed for returns even with one shade being ripped!

Does not work properly, hangs down from top 8 inches or so
