Smoke came out as soon as I switched it on
Was really excited about this product and it seemed to have rave reviews. The size of the rollers were great but as soon as I plugged it in, the rollers started to burn and they were very hot to put on and the quality of the plastic on the roller was very poor.

Pins not great for fine hair
I have fine hair and was looking to step up my volume game. I debated a long time between getting a set with pins or with clips. I opted for pins based on some pro-pin reviews on this site. However, not only do the pins do a terrible job keeping these big, heavy rollers in place with my fine hair, but they also get really hot, leaving burns on my scalp and forehead. The rollers themselves are alright but I'd recommend getting the clips if you have fine hair. Also, the kit doesn't come with any sort of pin storage compartment (unlike other hot rollers), which is disappointing.

Shop around
Does not heat up as hot as I’d hoped. The roller grips are very sad. Does not hang on to rollers at all. Have had to buy hair clips to support the rollers which was more unnecessary cost.

I returned it
My hair is fine and shoulder length, I used this on clean hair with styling products. I let the rollers heat up for 30 minutes and then let them set in my hair for an hour. I got minimal, lose waves when I removed them, and those waves lasted at most a couple of hours. I was so disappointed, I’ve been curling my hair with a flat iron for years and have been looking for a less damaging alternative.. this is not it. My old set of curlers that my mom passed down to me from when she was a teen worked better! Hoping it’s my method or hair type and others have more success… because the velvet flocking and rollers themselves seem to be quite nice.

Very heavy rollers
The "ready" light never turned from red to translucent white as stated in the instruction. I unplugged the rollers and left for a while to cool them as they were too hot to handle. They were far too heavy for my hair and flopped around, bonking me on the head. Eventually the heavy hot curlers could cause hair loss, in my opinion. Not for me. I will find a better solution to give my hair some body. Don't need to end up burned or bald.
