Very happy with this kettle. Pours nicely and it's nice and big...holds a lot of water. Sturdy. Note, the whistle is VERY loud!

My mom and I drink coffee every day. She prefers instant. We had a wonderful magical huge gigantic tea pot that we would use every morning to boil our water for our coffee. Well, we have extremely hard water where we live. And something has happened over the past year or so (ever since Hurricane Harvey) to make it worse. (I cannot even think about it...life is too stressful enough and all of my other water intake is filtered except for my one to possibly two cups of coffee in the morning- it just grosses me out too much to even begin to go there). So we have gone through two teapots in the past six months or so due to the hard water buildup bits getting ahead of the vinegar.This is the first teapot I have found that whistles, is sturdy enough and will hold up awhile, and most importantly LARGE enough for us not to have to refill it after having one cup!! Dang!! This is fabulous!!!People are complaining about it being heavy; well yes, that’s because you can actually put enough water in there to have four regular sized cups of coffee (or tea I suppose) out of the first boil. What a wonderful thing that is!!!And this pot keeps the water very Hot!! We were used to having to keep our electric stove burner on the “low” temperature to keep the water warm for our second cups. In this lovely pot, we have to be very careful! Now on the lower “warm” temperature setting (the setting below low-sorry, I know that’s confusing) the pot will continue to boil and the water level will go down if we are not watching it closely! So y’all be aware of that.Yes... I’m definitely going to purchase this exact tea pot again when the time comes for us to get another one!!I so appreciate the ratings here on Amazon. I always read here before I purchase things that I’m going to make any sort of investment in (most everything nowadays that seems). I will be sure to come back and post if anything changes. Great kettle. Feels high quality. Looks sharp. Matte. Cleans easily. Easy to add water to from a water cooler spigot. Only thing that is odd is that it makes a lot of noise. Popping sound.

Love this kettle. It's large and the bottom is wide so I can put my gas stove on high and the flames stay under the kettle and the water heats faster. Also the button on the handle can be popped up and left so it doesn't whistle and when pouring you don't have to hold the button in. A simple push and it pops back down. The lid is very substantial. Would definitely buy again.

Large base works well with high output burners. Boils water very quickly. Whistles well. Handle tends to get a wee bit warm but stays a bit cooler than others. The mechanism to open the spout is awkward and cheap feeling. In fact, the entire handle is quite cheap feeling. I'd recommend this for daily use with high output burners.

purchased about a year & half ago... paid a bit more for this one than my previous kettle which only lasted about 2 years. i liked the way this kettle heated quickly, the whistle wasn't obnoxious, and it was easy to clean.but the outside of the kettle is starting to rust. considering i only drink hot beverages about 6 months out of the year, and the rest of the time, the kettle stays dry & clean in a cupboard, this is very disappointing.not as well made as originally thought.

Those reviews should be removed and entered with the appropriate product.I almost did not purchase it until I noticed this glaring error.My kettle was delivered yesterday. I ran it through the dishwasher this morning; filled it with water and let it rip. I live in the high desert (2200+ ft), despite that the water boiled much more quickly than my old Revere Ware kettle ever did. I attribute that to the wide base in contact with the flame on my gas stove. The whistle was loud enough to be heard without assaulting your ear drums or being shrill.Very pleased with this purchase...Highly recommend.

The tiny pin or pins that opens the spout fell out - I only noticed when I was rinsing it in the sink & afterwards the spout cover was flopping around. Upon closer inspection, there are two different pin holes along the black handle which look to be part of the mechanism to lift the cover for the spout. These pins must've fell off while I was rinsing the tea kettle in the sink (because it worked fine minutes earlier). In the photos of this review, I put a yellow toothpick in each of the holes to show where the pin holes are in the handle (and took pictures without the toothpicks in the pin holes for comparison). For $31.00 I expect this to last longer than six months!
